I got a buddy of a buddy who swears that he can beat me in a 1998 Buick Regal GS. I took the liberty to look up some info on the engine but it seems pretty close. I got a 2011 V6 LS with a Ingen CAI , his is SC from the factory.

What do you guys think?

if hes stock and no upgrades you shld win by ALOT

IIRC those ran right around a 15 sec 1/4 mile...I assume it's a quarter mile race right? Is his bone stock? Only one way to find out for sure though...line em up and let them eat.

98 GS Is the same as a Grand Prix GTP... supercharged 3.8L

240 hp

Thats all they could squeeze out of a blown V6??? You should have ZERO problem taking him to the store.

Thanks for the replies guys. I just asked him to make sure, and the only di he did to it is put in a CAI from K&N and rebuild the engine for cleaning and such. But judging from the replies that shouldn't change the outcome. Thanks again.

If he's got a pulley and those mods, you're toast. He could be sand bagging, but like was said before, just run him. At the end of the day, you still have a car that's not 13 years old and looks like an old turn.

Yep. if he is stock, you have him, pulley and supporting mods, not so much. With pulley, tune, CAI, minor exhaust work my GTP ran 13.9.
