As long as you seal the back of the headlight good with the supplied tape, you shouldn't have any problem with fogging up.
The biggest regret I've heard from people is trying to use different tools and methods to install it, it rarely works, or takes much longer. I've tried many different ways, and none of them work as well as the way I did it in the video. One person that I talked to drilled a hole or two in the back of the headlight to get a straight shot at the screws, then sealed those back up, so that is an option if you wanted, but I prefer to drill no holes!
With the hour and five minute video as your guide and the right tools, you should have no problems!

But as always, if you get in a jam, or have any questions, feel free to call, email, or PM us!

Thanks!
- Jeremy

I did find a faster and easier method to get to the screws: You get the LONG torx bit and a 1/4" box end wrench. Put the bit in the screw and turn it with the wrench. I could probably replace the LED pad in 2 minutes going this route.

I need new lights btw...my red stopped working on the passenger side. And guess what: I can fix it thanks to JDP without having to bake my lights apart. Thanks guys!

HELP

Im installing the lights and I got the 4 torx screws out pretty easily, I installed the new LED's into the light, and I am at the part where you have to mess with the black plastic to get the metal screw thing to pop through. I have gotten one of the two on each head light, put one on each wont go through. I have been doing this for over an hour. Help! Thanks!

Sorry, I tried responding yesterday, but it wouldn't let me.

It's kinda hard to explain it over the phone, so here are a couple pictures to help explain a little better.

The little plastic post that sticks up is part of the main shroud for the headlight, and does not move. Right above that, is the aluminum LED heat sink, which the post goes through for alignment, then right above that is the black plastic shroud which the post also goes through, then those three are screwed together. When installing, the heat sink and black plastic shroud can get out of alignment (remember the post does not move). So what you need to do is get the plastic shroud to go up so it can align over the post, then fall into place. It is the same method as the other side of the light, just a little more difficult since you can't see it that well.

The following up and down reference the orientation of the picture, and do not mean pushing down towards the headlight lens, or pulling up.
You can gently push the heat sink down to slightly bend the post to get initial alignment (green arrow).
While doing that, push or pull the black shroud up (blue arrow).
If you can get an angle where you can see the post through it's holes (red arrow), then you can see where everything needs to go to be aligned and fall into place.
Sometimes if you've really changed the alignment during installation, the post may not be through the aluminum heat sink anymore, and you will have to get that through first. Usually if that happens, the post will be above, with the heat sink hole below. If this is the case, sometimes you may have to gently pull towards you (away from the headlight lens) to lift the heat sink up and over the post, then drop it back down around the post.
You shouldn't have to remove the two screws right around the LED for alignment, as everything there should move when aligning it.

Hopefully this helps some; it takes patience, but can be done!

Thanks,
- Jeremy

Thanks for the help. I did take apart the headlight and found out that the plastic pins were smashed down. I guess while pulling the metal, the plastic pin came out and when I tried to push it back down, it ended up bending the plastic pin, so taking apart the headlight was my only option. I got it all done and the lights are great, I just got unlucky. Thanks JDP!

Hello! Hoping for some guidance in the wiring piece of this. I have hooked up color changing lights into the wiring of these and they worked fine until one day they just stayed red. I have taken the rgb lights out it the picture now and they're still red. I have reset the lights a few times and they won't even turn off, unless in the mode where they turn off with the car.

When pushing the colors on the remote the lights flicker like they're trying to do something but they won't. I know that there are 2 red wires in the wiring, and I didn't even splice into the other red one. These were all working at one point.

Any suggestions?

Edit....
I think my remote batteries are dying or my remote is. While holding down the buttons for resetting the lights the red light would go off on the remote so I made sure 1 last time that it stayed on the whole time and they're changing again.

Edit 2....
Every time I turn the car off for a short amount of time (say 30min+) I have to reset my kit now. Any ideas what the deal is with that? I am going to get a new battery for my remote today or tomorrow but the remote seems to be working as the lights are blinking like it's trying to do something.
