Question Lashway Motorsports location in Orlando? Perhaps...

We've been talking to a lot of members on here and we keep hearing the same thing: WE NEED A SHOP IN ORLANDO!

I have also heard this from other enthusiasts on other forums we sponsor.

I want to gauge the market up there. We would like input from Orlando/Tampa/Daytona (and surrounding areas) members as to what current options are and what it is that you're all looking for. May be worth it for us to open a satellite shop to serve the LSx market up there.

Thanks in advance for any info!

Yessss! Definitely come to Orlando.

Offer tuning, custom exhaust work, and a dyno....plus the basics (spring/coil installs, bolt ons, etc.)

For one Orlando is Centrally located, and is in need of LSX Shop a more so than the other areas. There is only one shop in the area. More of a one man show with partime help. This area is wide open. This truly should not even be a choice to make. In hope that you may make this decission before the 1st Shunshine State Rally in March. If not take the time to look around when you come up for the Rally.

We have Phil and Jeremy but, the closest "shop" for installs and big stuff for the LSX is either Antivenom in Seffner or RX in Bradenton. Both of those are 50-60 miles from my area just over the Pinellas line.

Very True... Now ask me how far it is for me... go ahead... ask lol

..or how about my buddies between Orlando/Daytona. There is a decent market in Daytona. Not as big as Orlando..

It is the same principle reason the damn Rays should have been dropped in the middle of the state from the beginning.

I know i know. The South of FLA has all the shops. There is a bunch of dead area up this way. I vote to open a satellite in all major FLA cities. Yeah that's the ticket

Wow great info...

Logistically it is difficult. It would be a small place, but the same Lashway quality and expertise many have come to expect from us. We're South Florida's most experienced and capable shop - bar none, especially when it comes to LS performance and tuning. It;s our bread and butter.

We'd have to put a dyno in and a lift or two, and at first would start small working towards a full service shop.

Definitely interesting.

There's a couple acres for sale down the street from where I live. You've got a drag strip about 2 miles down for testing cars. A Mcdonalds, Taco Bell, Publix, and Burger King for all your food needs across the street. As well as Autozone & Advance Discount and a bunch of junk yards for parts. I think it'd be the perfect location for you guys

Orlando is your best bet 1 hour from Tampa, Daytona, Gainesville/Ocala, Cocoa, and 2 hours from Jax area.

I have to admit, the Orlando area has a void since Mike Norris left . I can tell you who the good tuners are and who isnt. Now I get alot of guys driving from Orlando to me for tuning and I feel bad that they dont have someone closure.

Plenty of times, I have guys call and want a scan done and I tell them to stop by. I've even got a couple in trouble keeping them out to late when they thought the car ran great, but I didnt like something I saw. A tuner and owner can tell you the car runs great, but when I plug in, the HP tuners scanners dont lie.

I stay busy here in Tampa. I dont like the traveling road show turner business. I feel you should have a home town tuner. If im spending a couple days at my parents house in Stuart, or my in laws in Vero Beach, Ill spread the word that im coming to town. I dont have to worry about Stuart anymore, they are in good hands with Xtreme.

I had to refer 2 cars and a magnacharged truck to one of my friend's shop today because im booked through January. There's plenty of work when your honest.

Best of luck if you do it,
Phil

Field of Dreams

In hope while you sleep you hear a voice that whispers, "If you build it, they will come".

Would love to see a new shop move into the area and get their hands dirty with bolt on and cam installs.

No matter what MODS I add++++++
Phil will stilll be my tuner.

I have heard that there is a new shop opening after the first of the year in Orlando. The guy has been around the area for sometime doing LS work for a couple high end shops and setting up to go on his own with some help from another outside tuner. Hoping to know more after new years and will hopefully will work out as a good option for folks.

From what I understand this has been in the works for 8 or 9 months and the hold up has been permits to get a building finished. So it seems to be going through. I will see if I can find out more.

Yea, I heard something along the lines that it was a GM tech from the North East who has lived in FL for a bit now... he has some affiliation with NLP.

I have tried numerous times to get work with NLP in Longwood as stated above...and wasn't very successful, they have tuning capabilities but won't even acknowledge VVT. Which is fine, I was leaning towards conversion, but at least give me pros and cons to both.

I am hoping someone takes the responsibility here who is customer service friendly..but I do prefer Lashway after their involvement here and the package deals they offer in S. FL.

...except those license plate covers, leave those down south.. those give me head aches lol
