Marchant Chevy in Charleston already has one on the lot, so I don't think Love Chevy's got the first one.

I was sure they were not to be the 1st in the state, but "unveiling" might be their disclaimer as most dealers won't due so till May 6th.

Yes and no. The car you and I drove was something sort of like a CTF (if not actually a CTF). They gave it back today. So depending on what the flyer means, it could still be right...

I'll be at the Racers Reunion today. I might even put down some $$$ on one of Love's next allocations.

The car Love is showing at the reunion is a pre-production car without a vin. It's a car Chevy has been sending around for shows and events. (It's dressed in ABM BTW) I talked with them yesterday. They don't have a regular production car yet.

AWESOME!!! I have finally seen one up close and in person!! I was right there when you took those pictures TJ!! I had him open the sunroof a couple minutes later. Nice, you got the VIN. I didn't even think to look. I'm surprised not to see myself in the background. I had a '68 Camaro tee-shirt on. We should have arranged to meet. Have you ordered one? If so, from which dealer?

Is that their "stock" car that all dealers are getting? If so do you know if they are selling it or demoing it?

It is there "stock" car and they are selling it. They were going to have an auction on the unveiling day but I didn't hear how that went. You can contact Kevin and he can help you out:

Love Chevrolet, Harbison Columbia will be hosting a classic car show along with the supposed 1st owner delivered Camaro in SC on display. It's an RJT 2SS/RS. I'm planning on showing my '67. It should be a good time. If anyone from the forum here comes out, look for me by my car. I would love to meet you.

Thanks for the info. I actually got my Camaro on order last week through Kevin. Someone canceled their order and I was able to take their allocation and make it what I wanted.

Ordered Mine two days ago...

TJ,
I ordered mine two days ago at Love Chevrolet on Harbison.

2SS/RS IOM
Midnight Silver Rims
Black Racing Stripes
Inferno Orange Interior Accents

Ours is going to be somewhat of a garage queen and will only be used for fun and in good weather.

Only mod I plan on doing is the Heritage Grill.
Of all of the stock pieces on the car the grill is the only thing that I slightly dislike...

I was 11 in line so I'm not expecting anything anytime soon!!

There at lease two dealers in the area here that have Camaros available to test drive and I drove both in the last couple days. (Sort of) I headed to Herndon Chevrolet on Saturday to check out their yellow 2LT. Ed was gracious to allow me to check it out. I think he was a bit reluctant to allow me to drive it, but he did yield and allow me to drive around the Herndon lot. It was clear the car wasn't going on public streets anytime soon. I checked out all the features I could including the USB port where I popped in my flash drive with music imbedded all over it. The BA system had no trouble finding all my music. I love that feature. CDs? We don't need no stinking CD anymore! Thanks ED for my first chance to drive a 2010 Camaro.

Today, Jones Chevrolet, here in Sumter received their yellow 2LT. I wasted no time at all going over and seeing if I could go for a real drive. I talked with the Sales manager, Greg and he was all about it. The car was on it's way to detail when he called and ordered the car back so I could drive it. I got a nice drive, got it up to about 80, and tested the tap shifters. All I can say is WOW! All that power out of a 6? I can't wait to drive "MY" LS3. Very impressive and a very comfortable drive. Thanks Greg!

This Friday and Saturday Jones will be doing their version of the Camaro release party. They have asked me to show my '67 along side their 2LT and my friend Dave's 1SS that came in last week. Some members of the Sumter Cruisers will also be bringing their cars. The event is being advertised and broadcast on the local Miller stations including Z-95. Come on by if you can.

i went to love chevrolet... cuz im moving to columbia, sc because my house is getting built but i still live in charlotte, nc as of now... so i figured i should order my camaro from them since when it comes in i would already live in columbia, sc.. instead of driving from charlotte to columbia... well i walked in.. no one attended me i had to ask for a salesperson.. i talked to him about the camaro, he didnt seem to give a crap about it since im young (20) so he figured i couldnt afford a 2ss/rs... (i own 3 vehicles) he didnt say much, i knew more than him about it, bad vibe from him and he said "i guess i can give you a card if u really are interested" and he said he would suggest a cobalt... umm no!! so screw them i went and ordered in charlotte at city chevrolet, they were great and they are a bigger dealer and have a better allocation.. got msrp too.. so their lost

You should have checked out Herndon Chevrolet in Lexington. They are good people over there.

The fleet manager at my work got a letter from City Chevrolet a couple weeks ago stating they had 3 new camaros ready to be sold. I wasn't sure I believed it so I called and talked to Ken, the Fleet sales manager there. Sure enough, they had 3 Camaros in stock and for sale. None were exactly what I wanted, so I wasn't interested, but still, it was a surprise.

My wife will take delivery of her new ride on Monday from Herndon. Happened to ride by to check out their display model on Saturday - they had just gotten it off the truck. Thought she might faint. Did all the paperwork and should pick it up Monday - still need to get the stripes put on. See the pre-delivery pic on the racking thread. Will post more pics when we pick it up.
