I agree with these two.

I used to run Carbotech but I have switched to Cobalt Friction and my lap times are much faster.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

Nope, I ran HPS, then HP+ on the stock brakes, then upgraded to CTSV with HAWK DTC 30 front and HP+ rear, then listened to Pete and went to the best, Cobalt Friction....

Hmm. I'm either thinking of going with Cobalt Friction with my stock set up or going the CTSV route with stock pads. Can't decide.

Best idea would be the CTSV with XR1/XR3 but that's a little too much coin all at once.

I would try the pads with the SS Calipers first, then go for the CTSV if they don't do the job...I didn't know about the Cobalt Friction pads at the time, otherwise I would have tried before going CTSV, along with the SRF Fluid.

I was having the same trouble decing between Cobalt Friction pads for track days or the CTS-V upgrade. I feel you get everyday enjoyment from the CTS-V upgrade and if you can sell your stock front brakes it is only about $400 more then the Cobalt Friction pads. At least with the kit I have for sale in the classifieds. My plan was to go this route and use stock pads with Motul RBF and brake ducts.

To keep the budget at a minimum that is probably the best way to go, DTC 30/HP Plus combo. I was happy running HP Plus front and rear at Daytona and Sebring earlier this year. You been doing any autoX lately or just the track days, which events are you running with?

Why are you selling the CTS-V kit? What are you running now?

Holidays, pregnant wife, new house...too much money going the wrong way but all for good things! I have stock brakes on my 1LE but plan to do the CTS-V upgrade in spring or summer.

FWIW - ran Nitto NTO1 tires, DBA slotted front rotors, Powerslot rear rotors, Hawk DTC70 pads in front, and DTC60 pads in the rear. Loved the braking in my last track weekend. Never been real happy with HPS pads track or street. Bedded them per instructions but they seem to be worse than stock pads. Still with stock calipers and running HPDE3.

Car braking seems real lame now back to street tires and HPS pads.

What size and where did you get the NT01's?

Sorry, been out of town for a while. Running stock rear rims on all 4 corners with 285/35ZR20 NT01 tires. Ordered mine from Discount Tire. Had to call the shop. Couldn't order online.
