I said I liked the white, and you should do another...why? because You've got some great talent, and potential! with Paint, those are great!!!

And welcome!

(on a side note: I was on a 2.5 hour drive at 6 in the morining yesterday...when up behind me, comes a car - rather fast, too - he pulls right up on my ass, and won't leave... It was dark, and his lights were bright and pissing me off, so I thought "I'll show him" and I was gonna speed up.

When I realized instantly, it was a 4th gen Camaro...I could just tell from the angle/ low-ness of the headlights, and the distance they were apart from each other. So my attitude instantly changed...I'm in a van, I thought, and he's got a 'maro...I'll move over and let him pass.

As I pan over, he nails it - and out of the gloom, comes a fully decked out, State Police, Camaro!!! Needless to say, I freaked out)

I wouldn't say he was driving any worse than I was... I overexagerated the whole "on my ass" thing, too...

OK, fair enough. I've had 4 or 5 near-accidents in my short driving career, and 3 of those were caused by cops driving like jerks. One time one was tailgating me when traffic ahead of me stopped, so I hit the breaks. Luckily the cop car had slightly better brakes than my car, so they didn't hit, but I'm sure there were eyeball prints in the driver's partner's glasses after that. Watching it in my rearview mirror I could see his eyes bulging. The other two were caused by cop cars driving 10-20 over the flow of traffic, no lights or sirens, no signals, lane changing erratically, and almost sideswiping me. I wish there was a way to give tickets to bad police drivers.

get a siren of your own...and a goofy-ass notepad...
Okay, maybe that wasn't very funny...

But seriously, back on topic....Jason, I'd suggest you do an inverse of that black Camaro...white car with black door ect...

I obey all traffic laws when in my cruiser. No point in getting complained on, right? And we are setting the example.

BUT...there comes a day when I find myself driving in a manner in which you'd call a "jerk"...like cutting across medians, going over curbs, cutting through traffic, making u turns in the middle of the road. And...all w/out lights and sirens.

There's reasons for everything. I could talk your head off about it. But, I'll give one quick example. Going to burglars in action. We run code on it...lights and siren. However, when we get close, we shut it down (lights and siren). We do this so we don't scare the bad guys off.......after all.....it's about catching them, right? Leave the siren on and I might as well announce it to the world "we're coming!"

I know I've ticked off a few people...not for sure, but most likely. But, I never had an intent to piss anyone off. There just comes a time where it happens. Now, I will tell you that there are some who don't care...period. So, I can agree w/ your statement. All I ask, is that you remember not all are like that and not all want or like to drive like "jerks."

Get 'em on tape. Some cops hiss at video cameras.

That's very nice...I may suggest that scheme to a friend that is wanting something like that for his 3rd gen. He plans to make it decepticon-esque
I just hope that I can get as good as you are at ps some day.

And for those who just refuse to get out of our way when we're running code...well, they get a nice big ticket for failing to yield right of way to an emergency vehicle. BUT...this is really all off topic, SO.........

Oh, you'll get there quickly. I remember when Dragon was asking how to do photoshops and he had asked someone else to make him a chop. He's now doing them (on a break) for the site. But, he does great chops now. Didn't take too long for him to learn.

I love Barricades paint scheme and all. Believe it or not, I'd love to sport that Saleen cop car daily for work.

Answer to "which rendition looks better"; I'd like to see an "unmarked" version, with the red/blue lights hidden behind the grill.

And to share some thoughts on cops/driving; (Again, I'll chalk this up to getting older)

Lights-on; I get out of the way as quickly as possible!

Lights-off; 1. Make sure I'm doing the speed limit.
2. Let them pass.
3. Smile

Don't forget, when they're driving a little more aggressively than we like, (and their lights are off), consider that they may be headed to a call, where they have to arrive "unannounced", they may have to make a court date, or there is some other reason which we're unaware of.

Lets give them a little respect and a break. They do alot to make our lives better and safer.

TAG UR IT is right and so is Moose, I see plenty of officers in their "units" driving worse than if it was a rental car....But I also see plenty of others who aren't in squad cars that aren't officers. I think most officers have a special drivers course training they must pass, thus making them better at driving safe when it appears erradic.

wow necro-posting. I like the photoshops.
and as for cops driving eradically, don't even get me started with Bakerfield PD.
although there's perks to it becuse they don't really pulll over people for speeding, since they are usually going faster than the people who are speeding.

I agree with both of you guys, after 26 years behind the wheel of a cop car, I find myself reacting defensively more and more...esp from unatentive drivers on cell phones, loud stereos, etc and people who just drive offensively....Respectfully to some of our negative posters here about cops, but we're multi-tasking(listening to calls going out, updates on radio and MDT, thinking of how to handle a call, etc..) for upwards of 12 hours a day in these cars and fow a few minutes you see us weaving in and around traffic...lets talk about benefit of the doubt until you gotta go though it day after day...
