Audio Overhaul Complete

Just completed an upgrade to my sound system.

Kicker IX1000.5 - 5 channel amp (replaced factory BA amp)
Polk DXI6500 component front speakers
Kicker 10" sub (4 ohm) in SubThump enclosure
Ditched the center speaker

Saved the $99 dollars on the FARK connector...
Spliced into wires myself using the wiring diagram on this forum.
No issues with engine noise, door chimes...etc..not sure what all the fuss is about on that subject.

Sounds great! HUGE improvement!

If you do nothing else to your factory system- DISCONNECT the center channel speaker. That thing ruins the stereo separation and staging.

The tweeters are in the factory locations on the top of the door panel. Simply removed the stock tweeters, and installed the new ones. The crossover (box) is inside the door panel. There are a few places it will fit in there.

How did you mount the Amp to the enclosure?

Is there one crossover box for each set of woofer and tweeter, so two boxes, one in each door, or is there only one box, and if so how do you run the wires to the other door?

There is one crossover in each door. You run the factory speaker wire into the crossover then from the crossover to the door speaker and from the crossover to the tweeter.

Lol, nice

I guess I need to look closer, I know I've had cars that you couldn't access from the top of the dash.

Thanks!
