Need help deciding on which Camaro to get.

I'm deciding on if I should get the V6 Camaro rs, or the V8 Camaro ss. I don't want to spend the extra money on the ss if it isn't much of a difference from the rs. So could someone please tell me all of the differences between two?

If you are getting a V6 RS...the difference is two cylinders...and a buttload of more power. I traded up and 24/7.

If you can, get a 2SS/RS....

If you're on the fence, then get the SS.

If you're super concerned about fuel economy, then the V6 is a great car with lots of go. But, there is a significant difference between the V6 and the V8 when it comes to power.

You really should test drive both before deciding.

I agree with the 2 extra cylinders, get the SS! You can compromise fuel economy by getting the A6 with AFM if you can deal with the drone when it kicks in. But to be honest, you can't go wrong with any combo, just personal preference.

What can you afford? Answer that first. If you won't be in over your head there's nothing like the SS. But it's your money, your bill. Don't go under water because "V8" sounds cool. They ain't cheap to run.

Either way, it's a CAMARO.

This.

I got the V6 because it's my daily driver and I don't want to have trouble paying for it.

You should drive both, but consider how the car will be used, how much gas mileage and all that means to you- and whether you can realistically afford the monthly payments (if financing). I will say this: the V6 still has plenty of power (323hp is certainly nothing to sneeze at!!), only requires regular gas, and still has the same incredibly good looks. Good luck!!

I have thought about that so many times. That keeps me leaning towards the V6 but ik that i'm going to probably feel bad if a V8 ss pulls up next to me lol.

Went with a 1SS even though I could have gotten a 2LT. I had to have a V8

I can understand that. If you feel like you might have buyer's remorse when you buy a V6, then I would say to try for the V8 outright. This way, you don't buy the V6 and then 4 or 5 months later go and trade for a V8....so many people do that (look at all the threads on here), which is fine, but they end up owing so much more than the car is worth. With the SS, the gas mileage isn't terrible for 400HP, and if price is an issue you cab always go for a 1SS... same power but less features. The 2SS is top of the line and has leather, HUD, power everything, etc. Lots of people on here have an SS as a daily driver so that's definitely possible.

How old are you? If you are older and more mature get the one that fits what your going to use it for. If your younger and less mature then there's no way you could ever be happy with a 6 banger with all your friends and people you don't even know asking you "why didn't you get a V8".

Only you know your financial and likes dislikes situation so hard to help you here.See what I did. Traded up after less then 2 years. BUT that was me and 28 years of V8 Camaros and th v6 couldn't close the power gap to satisfy me, The mods weren't enough to do it so $ down the toilet. The torque gap is just to great. MPG normal stop and go is 2 mpg less with the v8, mixed 50-50 to 70-30 freeway/city 2-3 only if that so gas $ a month and the small insurance increase is for me $50. And that is with a modded for mpg broke in v6 vs a new unmodded v8. Handling the 2012 ss FE4 suspension is great and balanced, so is the v6 but the shocks are to soft, good for ride, handling no. SS will always be better in the skidpad and slalum times then a v6 stock for stock.
All kinds of differences along with about $6000 more for the SS so you need to drive both and be happy with what you get and live with the extra costs if you go ss.

The RS is a nice car. The SS is a nicer car. If slightly more expensive fuel, oil, and tires aren't a problem then go V8.

You said you can afford the SS..Get it and dont look back. The dealer tried to sell me a V6.. I flat out told him if I get a mussle car then it has to be a V8.. If the ZL1 was out I would have gotten that over the V8 if I could of afforded it. You wont regreat a V8 if you can afford it. Remember High octane only !

Good luck

If you really don't want to spend the money get the V6, and upgrade later when you're in a more comfortable financial situation.

If you are a guy that likes power and you end up going cheaper and getting the v6 rs you will prolly regret it and try to trade up later. But instead of going for the v6 rs just go with the 1ss not the 2ss. Its not much of a price difference between the v6 rs fully loaded and just a 1ss. Plus the ss have better resale values so far
