Finally seen Inferno Orange Metallic in person.

I have been so stressed over color choice to the point I was loosing sleep. I know that sounds stupid but sometimes I stress over stuff I should not. Last week I had to finalize my order with my dealer for production. I have always been an Orange fan and I have owned two Hugger Orange Camaro's. Here is the problem I was having with the new orange. All the pictures I seen were less than exciting. I am use to the oranges looking red in pictures due to the Hugger looking red in a lot of pictures as well. All the pictures I seen of the new camaro in IOM just looked less than appealing. They did not show the body lines of the car and the car seem to be missing attitude and aggressiveness.

How the car looks in print and pictures is important to me since I plan on using the car in advertisements for our company. So I started looking at all the pictures of the Silver Ice Metallic and was contemplating going the safe route and getting it instead. Looking at the pictures of the Silver Ice Metallic the car seems to have had the attitude and body lines I was looking for.

At the end of the day I was almost to the point of canceling my order due to frustration of not knowing what I wanted. My wife of course felt I was being silly and told me to go with what my first choice of Inferno Orange Metallic, knowing how much I liked the Hugger Orange in the past.

Well I went ahead and finalized my order in IOM.


This brings me to why today was so great. I spent the weekend out of town at the river walk in San Antonio TX. On the way through Austin I heard there was a new car show going on. So My wife and I decided to see if the new Camaro was there in the IOM.

To my surprise they had 3 cars, Inferno Orange Metallic, Silver Ice, and Yellow.

Looking at these 3 cars made my day because now I know I made the right choice and I will not be stressing all through May waiting for my car to show up.

Let me tell you, the IOM looks 10X better in person. My wife also liked it which is really important since its going to be her daily driver for a while. I probably should not share this since I like to have something out of the ordinary.LOL! The car really pops in person and it does not look red. The car has stance, attitude, body lines and sex appeal. I can not wait for ours to arrive.

So for all you guys stressing over the IOM let me tell you if you love the Hugger Orange cars as much as I do you will not regret the new twist GM threw out there. Its no Hugger Orange but its the best color they have this year for sure.

Now for all you that have picked other colors, stick with your choice and stay away from the IOM. We IOM guys want our cars to be more rare and stick out in the crowd. LOL!

Not doing the factory decal stripes. I am going to have a local air brush and paint guy take care of the stipes in either white or black. Still up in the air on this part of the puzzle.

Yeah, all the people that say it's reddish-orange are just flat out wrong. It's definitely pure orange. I went to that same show in Austin today.

IOM changes a lot in Bright sun light it is Orange

if its cloudy then all the orange disappears and it looks red

o and btw IOM looks GREAT!

Ohh and as far as interior comfort. I set in the car for only a second but the feel was great. I had to move alone quickly because there was a line of people waiting there turn.

I would say over all this car had more people at it than any other car at any given time.

yeah also saw IOM for the first time yesterday. Having seen this color only in pictures before, I wasn't really a fan of it. But after seeing it in person yesterday I really like it. It looks much much better in person. I can only imagine how great it looks in sunlight!

Dude, I think trying to keep how cool IOM is a secret is going to be tough... Im thinking there are at LEAST 1500 of the 14000 that will be Orange.. .and im probably underestimating.

This color is SOOOO cool.... I was debating it as well. but after seeing it on a solstice i was just blown away...

I agree with you but in defense of the one picking at the weatherstriping I think he may be playing with the door lock pin.

As for the PICS I have seen IOM on a soltice and these pics come the closests to the true color that I have seen yet.

This car had actually already been scratched by someone on the driver rear quarter panel. I am sure that the car dealers expect that since its open to the public and people have little to no respect for other peoples property.

Shows like a new car show tend to attract the average person just interested in whats new out. It amazes me at how some of these parents let there kids climb around in the cars playing with every knob, button or lever possible while not even watching them.

The kids in this picture may be close on the car and one playing with the windowseal but there actions are no worse than a large majority of the adults that attend these shows. They were actually well behaved and careful.


Now there was a kid over in the toyota area that made me shake my head. His dad was paying him no attention while he was playing all the buttons and knobs on the dash like it was a video game while he jumped around in the seat. I understand Hyperactive kids act out alittle as I was one growing up. But my Dad still made me act right in public and show respect. Other wise I caught a beating right there and then. Guess what. Everyone of those beatings were well deserved and I like to think my success to being raised the way I was.

I want the stripes on the IOM Camaro I wind up getting. I am not sure what looks better, the black or white against this color? What do you guys think?
