Tampa Area Owners

Trying to reach out to any Tampa area owners who have installed the PDIM and steering wheel controls on a 1LT/1SS themselves. What local dealer did you take it to to have BCM/Radio reprogrammed without getting raped? Gordon just quoted me 89 bucks for each program, which seems very high to me.

Thanks in advance,

Darrin

just call around to see what quotes you get. because only a dealers can program it(from what i understand). try ferman chev in brandon and see what they say. they tend to have good customer service there. good luck

Yes but the problem is you get the random service person and when I try to explain what I installed and what I need I get "you did what?" and "to what?" So I was hoping maybe someone local had braved the waters before me and knew of someone/somewhere that I could take it that knew what needed to be done and was reasonabale. Oh well.

Stingray chevrolet will do it the cheapest. Price is listed right on their website for complete job. Although if you do not buy the parts from the dealers and it isn't warranty work. GM will charge i believe $50 for the reprogram then the dealer charges their fee to do it.

Item Name: Personal Device Interface Module (PDIM)
SKU: 22872777
Installed Price : $239.00
Part Only Price : $189.00

Mine was $80 up here. Like posted above, they get charged from hq $50 to start with so basically they should charge a half hr labor.

Gordon does all my custom work for me and they are always very reasonable... And so far, they do it right. Which is more important to me than price...

I should be receiving my PDIM part #22872777 on Wednesday from UPS.

Maher Chevrolet in St Pete owes me for holding my car for a week chasing an oil leak, so they said they would do the programming for the PDIM for free. I'm installing the hardware myself. I'm going to print and bring the instructions with me, and sit with the tech while he does the programming. I'm crossing my fingers it goes smoothly. Most things with Maher have not for me up to this point.

PDIM hardware is installed. Hopefully the calibration and update go smoothly tomorrow! The USB port has power, and the aux jack works the same as before. At least that verifies I plugged everything in correctly.

PDIM programming went smoothly. The part I installed already has the latest update, so it just took the radio calibration to get it working.

The sound quality from my iPhone via the USB cable is 100% better than using the aux. Plus it keeps it charged. Being able to see the track information on the radio display is a bonus!

The Bluetooth streaming does work great. The sound quality is pretty lacking, though. I'm kinda picky.
