Window Tint

For those of you who have tinted your windows specifically the rear window is it normal for the window to look refracted. Its hard to explain but at night when a car is behind me the lights coming through seems to become 6 different lights going up and down from the source.

They say specifically NOT to get Metallic tint for the rear window, as the radio antenna is routed through the back window, and it "may" cause interference. Not sure if this is an accurate statement or not, but really, why take the chance? Just get Ceramic tint.

I have metallic with no issues, and it would only affect AM and not FM ...

I just had my windows tinted yesterday. In the paperwork it said something about that. It's normal, (kinda weird, nut normal) I'll see what it said again.

it's caused by a slight bend in the film, due to the defroster ridges.

Since the side windows on the camaro slide down every time the door is opened, does the installer have to disconnect the battery before doing the window tint? Does this affect the curing process once the tint is complete (since it constantly slides up and down)?

Wondering bc I will get my tint on Friday.
Thanks in advance.

I was in the back shop watching the guy do mine and he didnt have to disconnect the battery at all. As long as they do it correctly the slight movement of the window when getting in and out of the vehicle doesn't hurt it you just dont want to roll the window all the way down for a few days.

I haven't got mine tinted yet, but it is a question I have asked installers. From what I have been told it isn't an issue. some installers will remove the door panel to get below the second seal. others have told me that they trick the system into thinking that the door is closed..

NIce, maybe it has a little push pin kind off like in some cars that make that annoying sound every time the door is open. So Im thinking they just push it in and tape it or something to make the sound go off and the window stay up.
I don't know why i never thought of that!

All they have to do is manually push in the lock/lever thingy on the door and the window will pop up as if the door is closed. You know, the little black thing that rotates into the silver gadget on the door frame of the car body. (I'm fairly sure those are the technical terms hahaha) Any way, just make sure they pop that thing out before they try closing the door.
