CEL after Solo HF Cats

How easy is it to damage a O2 sensor? All the plugs are connected everything is tight, no leaks and I got a CEL on the way home this morning. Only thing I can think of is I damaged a sensor but I didnt drop them bang them nothing. I'm going to swing by the parts store on the way to work and see what codes I get but I'm pretty dissapointed. I got the Solos just because they said they wouldnt trip a CEL.

I've ran the SOLO cats for over 20k miles. The only time I set a code was related to one of the the rear O2 extensions leaking. If your SOLOs came with the aluminum extenders, instead of steel, look real close at those. It doesn't take a very big leak to throw a code.

I just installed the Solo HF Cats not too long ago and my CEL came on, but I just pulled the neg battery cable and let it reset. It has not come back on since. Might just try that first.

I dont care about the warranty I already cancelled the extended warranty they talked me into when I bought the car I was just hoping to not need one till the turbo. Thats why I did the solos instead of the LTs. I just want my car running right with no CEL

I'll try that for now but dyno tune is scheduled for a week from today.

First thing to check for is exhaust leaks. That will throw a code (lean).

But obviously you need to check the codes first. But don't lose hope.

P1153 was my CEL DTC. What gives? I read a bunch of posts and this usually happens when guys put on LTs and don't tune. Any suggestions?

That's not an easy one. The computer is seeing an unexpected A/F ratio, which could come from a bad O2 sensor, a leak, or some other change in airflow.

What other mods do you have and did you use any RTV silicone to seal the shorty header gaskets?

Read over this:

http://www.ls2.com/boggs/dtcs/DTC%20P1153.htm

It will give you an idea what's happening, but there's lots to do to determine if the O2 sensor is bad or if your mods have caused it to read unexpectedly. If the sensors are good and there are no leaks and the car otherwise is OK, probably the only option is to tune them out.

Read it and basically I either have a leak or need a tune which shouldn't be since solo claims no cel.
