Installation question for new exhaust system

I am looking at installing Borla ATAK cat back system on my 2011 2SS. I was looking at some of the instructions on the replacement and they state to remove the stock exhaust from the hangers and you will reuse those same hangers to mount the new system. But when looking at the pictures for installation, it appears that the hangers have been welded to the stock exhaust. Can anyone confirm that they are welded to the hangers or do they slide in and out easily.

Have fun with those, they are tight. I removed my bumper cover to get to them

You don't need to remove any diffuser or bumper cover. Take a tiny bit of oil and with your fingers shove it in the holes of the hanger and the stock exhaust will slide right out and the aftermarket will slide in to complete the install.

So the stock exhaust is not welded to the hangers? From the picture it appears that they are, but I could be wrong.

You will understand what we are talking about once you get under there. An exhaust should never be welded directly to the chassis. Like everyone else is saying, lube up those rubber hangars to slide the exhaust out. They can be difficult.

Shoot a little WD-40 into the holes of the rubber hangers. Let it sit for a minute or two.

No need to remove the bumper or diffuser.

As did I. WD-40 then evaporates and restores the higher level of friction.
