I don't know what the GM guys get paid to deal with us here... but, I'm pretty sure they need a freaking medal and a raise after some of the threads here recently...

I've complained about the weight and some styling before, but, some of you guys have gone beyond stern customer feedback to plain a-hole.

Can this please be a grateful thread?

Scott also confirmed this, just not so directly to where he can get canned. He has to protect himself. I have a TPW of 1/28 and have the B92 option, my dealership has spoke to production control including the manager now 5 times about the situation, god bless his sole, and every time he gets the same answer that it will ship with the exposed insert. Sorry if that upsets you but that is cold hard facts that you have to deal with.
I don't understand the antagonistic tone of your post.

Whether early production 2012 ZL1s come with or without the B92 option does not affect me personally one way or the other, as I will be ordering a 2013 ZL1 Convertible, and it's likely that the early production startup issues will be long since resolved by the time that my 2013 ZL1 is produced this summer.

My goal is not to have people get their expectations and hopes raised only to be disappointed because one's vehicle is not delivered the way one wanted it or because one's vehicle's delivery becomes delayed due to the fact that one was told one thing by one's dealer and reality ends up not comporting with what one's dealer indicated. We've seen quite a few on this forum get upset because their expectations, for one reason or another, were not met to their satisfaction.

I try to accurately represent what has currently been stated by those whom I deem to be reliable sources (at the time that I posted my comment that you quoted, Scott's latest comment on the B92 option stated that the B92 option was not going to be available at the start of ZL1 production). This is now the most recent comment I can find by Scott regarding the B92 option --

It DOES appear that we will build SOME cars that are already scheduled with B92. But I have no absolute answer and one of the reasons is because we have not started regular production.
I read that comment as that the B92 option may currently be intended to be on some early production 2012 ZL1s, but even so, the B92 option may not actually be installed on early production 2012 ZL1s, since regular ZL1 production has not yet begun, and unforeseen events could unfold which might preclude the B92 option from being installed.

So, it appears to me that the B92 option may well be installed on some early production 2012 ZL1s when production starts, but it is not guaranteed at this point, and I would advise people to set their expectations accordingly.

The bad news is that it came two weeks too late if you wanted to combine the color with B92, which is what happened to me. I passed on my Dec. allocation waiting for Crystal Red to arrive. Just as my January allocation arrived, Crystal Red is put on Quick Order and it is announced that B92 is put on constraint. I can't catch a break here. So I passed up my January allocation and will give it one more month and hope that the B92 problem is resolved in the next few weeks BEFORE the Feb. allocation comes in. But on a bright note, at least the color I want is available and if B92 is still on constraint then I will order the car without it and try to work a deal to buy the part at cost over the counter at a later date.

Jedi- I told my dealer that some on the forms were getting the B92 replaced for $600 when it is avialable (see other posts on that). He got back to me and offered to do it when available at cost, but he could not commit to $600.

I think that is very fair, and so I now have a Ashen Grey Metalic ZL1 with base mohawk and base black wheels that went to status 3000 today (although dated yesterday, I got email and dealer update today). I am really hoping I can get the CRT change in, and I also will change to the optional bright wheels if I can get CRT (then powdercoat them to the carbon version).

Talk to your dealer, mine was willing to work with me on the exposed carbon fiber insert price.

Congratulations on the CRT and good luck!

Bruce, I hope you can change your color to CRT but I heard that once you reach 3000 that it is too late to make changes. If you are able to make the change, your order might slip back to 2000/2400. Definitely get the car in the color you want first, the rest can be added. I casually mentioned buying the CF Hood at cost to my dealer but did not pressure the issue. I will wait and see what the status of B92 is at the next allocation.

Why Chevy would be what amounts to cruel to move people to 3000 the very same day that they finally release CRT rather than at least give the enthusiasti loyal at least a couple days to order a newly released color is beyond me.

I ordered at opening time the very first day. I have done everything right to get this vehicle. I would hope Chevy has SOME touch with reality.

I have seen a post from FBODFATHER stating that color can be changed up to 3100, but almost all other info i have seen says not after 3000.

I really do not know if I will just plain give up or not if they can't change me to CRT. I am hoping they might accomodate.

Does anyone know if I would LOSE THE ORDER AND ALLOCATION if I change color anyway, or if I just delay production? If it is a decision between VIN number and getting the color i REALLY want, i will wait, but I fear I could lose the allocation.

Any insights please? The experts please chime in?

B92 is the exposed carbon fiber hood insert (or was). Currently constrained.
