Muffler Delete too loud with cam?
So I have kooks long tubes, hi flow cats and magnaflow muffler deletes. The car is pretty loud as it is. My car is in the shop getting a TSP 229/236 112 LSA cam swap. I'm hoping it stays the same volume but just changes tone. But I'm thinking it will be much louder than it already is.
I love how the muffler deletes sound and wish I could just quiet it down but keep the tone. But I think I will end up having to put on some mufflers. I've been searching exhaust threads all over again. Here is a list of mufflers I found that I feel will quiet the exhaust some but still keep it loud enough to my liking. -Sw retro chambered -Magnaflow 3 inch catback w mufflers -Flowmaster outlaw -Borla atak I'd really appreciate it if anyone with these exhausts could chime in with some help. Maybe a rating of how loud on a scale of 1-10, 1 being stock mufflers and 10 being muffler deletes, the increase of sound. Any drone with these? Thanks **ill post a video of my car when it's out of the shop later today or tomorrow**

Magnaflow....love the sound. Not too loud but a deep tone. Not raspy like some.

1-10? An 8 for me. Inside drone? Yes. Do I love it? Hell yea! Will it ever get old? Maybe, but I don't care. If it's too loud, are you too old? YEP.

i have the same set up as you described but i also have the resonator delete. yes the cam will make it really loud. add a blower to it and it will get even louder. i love how loud it is and i've been running it like that for over two years but now im thinking of putting an axle back on it. the blower makes it sound a little too raspy at times.
any axle back will make it sound sweet imho

If you hoped the volume would not or just barely increase.. you are going to be shocked and yes.. cops will be at your door step often until they finally put a target on your car. I am sorry, if I offend someone.. not my intention. LTs with muff delete is loud... sometimes it works. But with a Cam it will be stupid loud (I am not "old" either)... border line obnoxious in my buddies cabin.. I am keeping my S type mufflers for my cam.
It was described to me as .. if you recall the jump from my stock to headers.. if you can imagine that jump AGAIN. That is an aggressive cam increase.. In fact, I thought the tone was BETTER with headers and exhaust or muffler delete. I think that is the best TONE you will achieve. My buddies moderate cam almost seems to lose its tone. You are far more focused on the lope than any tone.

Someone said I should put some kind of sound deadening bullet mufflers in place of where the resonators were. Some that have holes inside with steel wool and wrapped in fiber glass or something like that. Would this cause a lot of drone?
I used to have long tubes matched with borla S types but got rid of cause they were too quiet. If the jump in noise with a cam is similar to adding long tubes to a car, then I might go back and get the borla S again.

It's you're, not your. As in you're a detriment to the forum by adding nothing useful to the discussion. Go play on 4chan or reddit if all you're going to add is grammatically incorrect condescension.

Hey man where did you get your cam? Did you have a shop install it or do you do your own work? I'm in Denver and looking to get a cam this Spring. I have a shop I go to in Wheat Ridge and this guy is great but I'm always looking to hear about new good places and people. I never see you over on the Colorado regional thread.

the problem with a delete is that is loud all the time. a lot of other exhaust have the ability tone down at lower RPMs and get load at WOT.

So I found these magnaflow bullet mufflers (magnapacks). They are straight through, have perforated holes with steel wool and fiber glass wrapped or something? I'm thinking these in place of where the resonators were will help quiet it down some.
http://magnaflowperfexhaust.carshopi...id/65655/14416 Any thoughts on its efficiency or chance of drone?

big cam without LT's?
... it probably wont be that bad sound-wise. but once you get the LT's it will be a monster.
