Fans for brake cooling
So I've been researching how to install brake ducts in the Camaro to help with track days. Some interesting threads so far on the forum. So while thinking about a way of pulling air from the front facia, I came across an inline duct blower and was wondering if instead of cutting holes this would work.
Allstar Performance 3" Heavy Duty Inline Blower - 8" Long - 170 CFM Add one of these fans on both sides somewhere up towards the front facia. Feed the duct tube through the wheels well like others did and attach to a brake duct intake. The advantage would be air blowing on the brakes even after you pull off the track. Just not sure 170 CFM is enough flow. They make a 4" blower that puts out 240 CFM. I'm just not sure about running 4" ducting and attaching that to a 4" duct intake mounted on the rotor shields, whether there's enough metal to accommodate that size duct. Opinions?

Would be very handy as you stated to let run after you park. space might be tough to come up with.

These brake scoops look interesting too instead of taking air from the front of the car/radiator. The fog light would probably be the "right" spot to get air from but I'm working to keep my car as visually stock as humanly possible.
http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...-mod-pics.html Although getting it directed to the hub would be tough without some hose in conjunction with a scoop under the car. When possible I like to keep it simple and avoid motors/wiring where not necessary. It wouldn't move as much and be dependent on vehicle speed though. |

Don't think there'd be space for this on our cars and I question the amount of air it would get entering the actual rotor vanes versus getting it on the outer wear surface
