GM'S RECALLS LOWEST IN DECADES!!!!

NUMBER ONE MOST RECALLED AUTOMAKER IN 2011 WAS- HONDA

NUMBER TWO MOST RECALLED WAS- TOYOTA

NUMBER THREE MOST RECALLED WAS- FORD

NUMBER FOUR MOST RECALLED- CHRYSLER

FORDS RECALLED IN 2011- 3.3 MILLION

GM CARS RECALLED IN 2011- JUST 500,000

AND TO THINK A FORD GUY IN MY DEPARTMENT WAS TRYING TO SAY HE KNOWS OF PEOPLE THAT BOUGHT NEW CADILLAC CTS'S HAVING ENGINE PROBLEMS AFTER ONLY A FEW MILES HE IS FULL OF IT AND THIS IS PROOF!

but it looks like it varies greatly year to year....

Quote:
General Motors had its lowest number of recalls in decades, recalling just 500,000 vehicles in 22 campaigns. A year prior, GM recalled 4 million units.
Quote:
Ford came in third with 3.3 million vehicles recalled in 13 campaigns, which is up from the 581,000 vehicles in 2010.
but in good news, both Honda and Toyota recalled several million in 2011 and 2010 each year, worse than all 3 of the Detroit 3...

Recalls are one thing, problems and quality defects are another. Recalls only happen if it's a safety issue. A car can have a lot of problem without every getting recalled. Quality still isn't what it should be at GM. It doesn't take long to see that if you spend any time at all on this very forum alone. But, really for the most all cars are pretty good these days and most will give you good service if you take care of them.

more than 1.2 million F-150 pickups were recalled for sudden and unexpected airbag deployments.
sudden and unexpected airbag deployments.... that would be a shocker on one of those long road trips when your half asleep and the dang air bags go off...

Exactly.

Go over to the vert section and try to talk about GM quality. GM is buying back convertible Camaros left and right because they can't fix them.

Better than most because I took matters into my own hands. I had rub marks in the first month, had my top replaced, but they did nothing to fix the actual problem. So I fixed it myself before it could ruin another top. I still get slight rub marks in other areas, but they aren't that bad.
