New Adam's Customer.

For Christmas my parents bought me the Adam's Porter Cable starter kit that came with all the pads and polishes. And the bug bit me!
I turned around and bought the Interior kit, and the Deluxe wash kit and a bunch of other stuff, three orders total HAHA So far. I need to make another one for some Detail spray and all purpose cleaner by the time I am done with the four cars I plan to use this one!! I think the 5 gallon size will do nicely!

I am almost done with the Camaro and I love this stuff!!! I can't wait to see it in the bright sun tomorrow. By the time I got to a finishing point the sun was too far down. But I did the 3 step polish, then the machine sealant stuff, the Glaze then the Americana carnabu wax to top it off on the hood and cab so far.

Anyway I figured I would share some before and after photos, I am sure you can tell which is which. This is just of the swirl removal, once I am completely done I will take pictures of the whole car for every one. It may be a little while because I decided a little bit ago that I will be removing my hood spears and fender hash marks too.

I took a look today with the sun out and WOW!!! It's smooth, there are a few fine scratches near the hood spears, but I plan to remove all the vinyl on the car, once I do that I will hit those areas again and they will be history!

I just stair at it while I am washing and waxing it, it's awesome. I love how the pictures came out. I can't wait to get some better full car photos. I plan to make a poster.

These Adams products really are awesome, I have been reading about them in the forums since I joined in 2009 and I finally got some and now I am hooked! It is soo easy to use. My wrists are kind of sore today from the Porter Cable. I read a thread in their forums about that, but as soon as I get use to it just like anything else I will be fine.

I need to look to see how many coast of glaze and or Americana I can put on...

1 coat glaze, 2 thin coats Americana will be about all.

Waxes don't "stack" so well beyond that... IMO 3 consecutive coats will be where you start to just waste product, beyond that you may actually begin to see a little clouding on the finish from product buildup.

Okay good to know Dylan, thanks for the quick reply. I have one coat of glaze and one of the Americana, once I finish the entire car I had planned to put another coat of Americana over the entire car one last time.

Now make sure that you wash or remove any dust off the car correctly so that the swirls don't return.

Thanks Junkman, I plan to thats why I had to buy the Adam's Deluxe wash wash kit (grit guard bucket and shampoo, they Great white drying towel, car wash pad), and a bunch of Microfiber towels.

I am already building my next order. 1 gallon refills of the Detail spray, Waterless wash and All purpose cleaner are on the list. I have to figure out the use of the quick sealant before I order. Not sure if I need it if I already use the Machine Super Sealant. Later on the list is the Jumbo Wheel and undercarriage kit. There goes my stripes money haha.

If you have the Machine Super Sealant, then you don't necessarily need the Quick Sealant. I would start saving up for the Master Blaster if I were you. Remember, the less you touch the paint, the less opportunity there is for you to damage the paint.

I'll post below what I have. It is linked to the Adam's site where prices are listed. If you use "Camaro5" or "The Junkman" you will receive a 10% discount.

I received this kit for Christmas
Adam's Starter Porter Cable 7424XP Polisher Kit

I then purchased
Adam's Basic Wash & Wax Kit

Adam's Premium Shine Kit

Adam's Perfect Interior Kit

Adam's Perfect Vision Glass Cleaner & Sealant Combo

Okay enough with the pictures.

Adam's Focus 4" Polishing Pad Kit

Adam's Microfiber Detailing Towel Bundle

Adam's Hex-Grip Hand Polish & Car Wax Applicator Trio

Adam's Microfiber Applicator Pads

Adam's In & Out Spray Dressing

Adam's Revive Fine Hand Polish

An extra
Adam's JUMBO Professional Car Wash Pad

Adam's Double Soft Microfiber Towel

And a few other things I think.

It's been raining so I have not been able to finish, I plan to get more detail spray and all purpose cleaner too.

There's one thing that I would say to someone in your position. Do not bother trying to fix your paint if you do not understand how it was damaged in the first place. Allow me to explain.

Here's the scenario that I like to use as an example. Imagine a man who is in debt up to his eyeballs. One would think that if you throw enough money at this man's situation, it would solve all of his financial issues. But if this man has poor money management skills and waste 50% of the relief that he receives, then he will still be 50% in debt when all the money stops coming his way. Thus, you have to address the man's poor money management skills and teach him HOW to manage his money before you give him a dime. Once the man has this knowledge, the money you give him will go a lot further in resolving his economic woes. On top of that, it will take a LOT LESS money. Imagine that!

Paint correction works the same exact way. You can buy all of the best polishes, waxes, towels and machines on the planet being offered by the best company ever founded. You can then repair your paint to the point that no blemish remains. However, if you continue to do all the things that destroyed your paint in the first place, then you are doomed to constantly having to fix your paint over and over again. There is only so much clear coat on your car. Every time you fix your paint, you are removing some of that clear coat (the amount depends on the machine that you use, how aggressive the polish is that you use and how often you use them).

Thus, you want to do a major repair of your paint ONCE in the life of the car. From that point forward, you should only have to do minor touch-ups whenever necessary. In order to follow this logic, you have got to learn how to properly touch your paint. I cover these situations in my 2-bucket wash video series and my proper dust removal video series. Any deviation from those practices is like giving a thirsty man a drink from a cup with a big hole in the bottom.

Worthless.

This is why I could not stop with just the Porter Cable kit, I needed extra towels etc, and the wash kit so I can protect the paint from getting more swirls. I watched the DVD probably 5 times before I touched the car.

Bingo. When you approach this from a logical standpoint, the initial jump in can be expensive. However, most of what you buy is a one time purchase. After that, replenishing your arsenal is relatively cheap.

This is an investment to your car or to the resale value, whichever you decide it to be. It will definitely pay for itself if you ever sell the car.
