Question Drone after muffler delete

Picked the car up from the dealer in November, and I have been hating the stock exaust from day one. It is simply to quiet. I have been reading about the muffler delete, but I went to a local shop today and they told me that it will drone bad. I am looking for advice from those who have done it as to how it sounds at different speeds. Thanks!

P.s. I'm new so if I missed this thread somewhere else already feel free to direct me there.

There are ways to get rid of the drone tho. Like adding j pipes which won't change sound at all but get rid of all drone. U can look that up on the forum I have started a thread on there about them.

It will drone but not that bad. When I had a muffler delete I would get it at about the 1800 rpm range when it was under load. I didn't notice it much at all on the highway but I don't drive on the highway alot.

I still think it's worth doing for the price. You can make the drone go away be slowing down or speeding up a little.

I had zero drone with the LS3.

I've "heard"
drone is more prevalent in L99 cars.

I had no drone at all with muffler deletes and long tubes with high flow cats. I have an LS3. My borlas droned. There was so little drone, that I actually missed it a little. It was loud outside but in the cabin was almost a blank or empty feeling.

Was that an LS3 or L99?

I'm definitely going to be changing it up somehow, just trying to decide how. Right now I'm leaning towards the delete or the FM outlaw axle back. (I have limited choices on systems because it's a vert). I have also heard good things about the borla atak axle backs.

No Drone on my LS3. LS3 is the Manual trans motor and the L99 is used with the automatic.

I think everyone's sensitivity to drone is a bit different. If you want to be sure, or if you plan on headers, high flows or other mods I would go with the Solo axel back or cat back with the J pipes. I'm very happy with the sound, and I'm very sensitive to drone - there is none with the Solo setup. I know you can do it on the cheap with just pipe, but for me that was not a route I would have been comfortable with. Good luck!

Replace the mufflers with some small resonators to eliminate the drone. I bought some from Solo and they made a big difference on my previous 5th gen.

Still getting miles(about a 150) on my outlaws and drone is there. It booms in the cabin in the 1500-2500 rpm range around town as you go through the gears.Headed out on the freeway today to get more miles on them and at 65 on up it droned bad, but that was on a slight upgrade but also up the hills. On the way back and going now on a slight decline it was better as it would be,but going up a hill was now better then before so maybe ecu getting used to it and it is calming down, maybe carbon build up will help also, these things are basiclly a tube with baffle rings in them and sound reaaly good. There will always be drone with no mufflers or aggressive ones like these but isn't as bad as I thought it would be. If you dont like drone some after market resonators in place of the stockers might work,or a resonated x pipe surely will(which I may do)
