Changing to ceramic brake pads, do you have to change rotors too?

I'm sick of cleaning the brake dust off of my wheels and have read that ceramic pads almost eliminate the hassle of constantly cleaning brake dust off of your wheels.

Do I need to do anything with my rotors? Can I simply replace the pads and do nothing to the rotors? Are the pads normally stocked at retail parts distributors like Auto Zone? Or do I have to buy special pads to fit the Brembo's?

Are there any down side to ceramic brakes? Can anyone give me an idea of what the pads cost? I have a 2SS/RS/M6 w/ Brembo's.

You do not need to change your rotors, just the pads. I have no idea if the stores like AutoZone would have them but I know we and many of the other vendors here on C5 do. Give us a shout if we can be of any help.

I have been using the Hawk Performance ceramic pads for 2 years now and think they're great! Low dust and perform well. Like Apex Chase said no need to change rotors! When I bought them I think they were around $200 for the set but check around for current pricing.

Not a Camaro but it works for now!

Apex- What brand do you carry? From what I've read and SSMike it sounds like Hawk are the preferred brand. What is the cost for a set of 4? You can PM me if you prefer.
