Prices are TBD but if 25 people are more buys in the Group buy, the prices will be reduced. They are shooting for below $500 for the kit.

Also, is there gonna be an option to send in some tail lights if we don't want to open them ourselves?

I second this. I think many would be willing to pay a little extra and a core charge to have these done and ready for install.

Hey SJM / TonyNo - from what I've seen on the forum and from experience, I do think that you'll find less headache from customers being upset because they either 1) messed up the install and it doesn't work. 2) lights weren't sealed properly and hold moisture and fog. 3) just don't want to mess with the install and decide not to buy the product. I'd say there has been a fair mix of folks in all 3 categories in other light mods.

Think about how much additional sales revenue you can generate from group 3 alone that would pass up on it? Also think how much less of a customer service hassle it will be to troubleshoot/refund people from groups 1 and 2. Or it comes down to that sticky situation where it was their fault but you then get herds of negative feedback.

Perhaps, cover the cost of time to prep these in house in additional margin in the product and I think you might pull more revenue on these than you think with less headache post sale. Sure there will be a few that go out that need fixing, but that's where the excellent customer service comes in. You could also offer a lower priced kit for the DIY'ers and then the higher priced prepped ready for install version.

We all love your concept and those that have seen it in person do as well. I by no means am trying to step on your toes. Just suggestions my friend.

Great points! I myself have purchased a few interior lighting mods from SJM and the installs were pretty straightforward..... That being said I think I'd be more comfortable for sure with a completely prepped light, ready for a plug and play install

As mentioned before, DIY kits are first, followed later by value-added.

That seems like a reasonable solution. From what info I have been able to gather, the install is pretty straightforward, pretty hard to screw up.
