What engine is this?

Is this a LS3?

Its supposed to be a 2010 Camaro LS3 with a truck oil pan on it... hmm

LS3's didn't come with automatic trannies also right?

Thanks!

okay forget the transmission remark. He said the tranny came from another car.

This really looks like an LS3... Is that VVT on the front though?

That's the engine VIN, get a close up & non-blurry picture of it and someone will be able to look it up for you.

2 me. It looks like VVT sensor at the timing chain cover.
Could check the number on the cylinder head at the front/side of the head. You can almost see it.

The valve covers and valley pan are not for a 2010 Camaro. It is a VVT engine so it may be a truck motor.

Ask them for the casting numbers. That 3 digit code on the corner of the heads will tell, can't quite read them in the pic.

My guess is a truck engine, like a 6.2 from a Burban or Escalade.

I think that is a *06 on the corner of that head? If so, definately a truck engine.

what is the 3 digit code on the heads for the ls3?

I belive that number on the bottom is the GM part number.

I need that "block" part number though... hmm

Most LS3 engines (pretty sure all Camaro LS3) are 821, on the corner of the head will be 0821. That code on the corner in the pic looks completely different.

You'll need the block and head casting numbers to really know what it is, but I'd pass on that because I don't think the seller knows what it is either.
