Spectre 341 Hill Challenge

Spectre 341 Hill Challenge registration is open! I've already signed up. This road course is a blast! I did it last year and had a ton of fun.

Dates are June 15-17th. You get 2 full days to make passes up the 5.2 mile course. Cost is $341 to enter.

You can find all the details on their website.

http://www.spectre341challenge.com/

I would recommend registering now and you don't have to pay until June 15th.

Let's try and get as many cars out there as possible this year!

Don't forget to be careful on the mountain!

I'm having a hard time finding info about the "fun run" part of this. I want to do it, but I'm too inexperienced to drop the hammer on this. So if you can provide any detail that would be great.

It's probably like any other fun run. You don't have to go balls to the wall if you don't feel comfortable. You start slowly and as you get more comfortable you go faster and faster. Looks like a BLAST!

It's necessarily a "fun run." It is a time attack on a road course to see who can get the best time. This was my first hill climb and I had only done a couple AutoX sessions and 1 track day. I started out slow in the morning and got a little faster each run. It's a course you want to take your time with as there is nothing stopping you from going over the edge. If you are comfortable with that, it is def one of the funnest things you will do with your car! They have people out there with all different experience levels going on and they only allow 1 car on the course at a time.

Hope that answers some questions.

Im getting track time as much as possible. It's a lot harder to drive my car now, buts its getting dialed in more everytime, and i think i can beat 3:41 this year, i was about 15 secs off last year and i wasnt pushing that hard last year.

The whole course has turns that are connected. There are only a few turns where you need to get on your brakes hard. I plan on going up there before the event to figure out how im going to drive the car too.

The motor makes 600bhp before the turbos so i can always shift the the next gear up and stay off the turbos.

19" wheels and tires

In that order and I plan to have them finished by the event.

This one does sound like fun... I don't think I'd ever be able to push it as hard as I would on a track, but it's nice to know that there isn't a car coming towards you in the other lane! I'll put this on my calendar... maybe I can make it.

I had about the same setup as you, except i was running 20s, and didnt have nearly as much suspension as you.......except that supercharger, the course flows well so that suspension will really help out.

It would be sick if you make it! its a blast to run and in my opinion a must-do event if we're only a couple hours away!

I'm sure it'll look awesome. Blu808 does really good fab work. Seen Pyr0boy's and it's very well done.

You should consider driving to NV for this =). Pretty unique event!

Hmmm , where and with what do i fasten it too. Where do you pick up fire extinguisher? I've seen the ones at costco but don't know if they are the right type.

Rule 8. On board fire extinguisher – A 2.5 lb. minimum, automotive BC fire extinguisher, with a secure quick-release mounting bracket made of metal. The mounting bracket must be securely mounted to the vehicle or cage, zip ties will not be allowed. The extinguisher must be within easy reach of the driver.

The majority of people have some type of roll cage. There was an aston martin and ferrari that screwed the extinguisher to the floor and they passed tech.
