Since you just bought your SS, I'd suggest sitting down and reading the owners manual. Lots of great stuff in there!

Me for one?

There actually is some interesting stuff in there, and it saves you from looking like an idiot when random people start talking about stuff you car has/does and you don't know about it because you never read the book.

Plus it kills time and allows you to think about the car while it's locked away for the winter :(:(

My salesman was kind enough to earmark 6-8 pages that I should read first.

Welcome to the club and congrats on the new ride. You can also download the owner's manual as a PDF. At least they have them for the 2010/2011, and here is the link for the 2012: http://www.chevrolet.com/assets/pdf/...2k12camaro.pdf

Makes searching for anything much faster.

I read the owner's manual in the first few days. Good stuff.
That's where I found out about all personal config. stuff that could be done through the radio of all places. That was a surprise.

Oh... and welcome aboard. As a new SS owner myself I can assure you that you are going to have some serious fun in your new ride.

As already said, battery is in the trunk. But nobody mentioned that you can jump or trickle charge the car by using the posts in the engine bay. The big red (+) is obvious, but the (-) terminal is tucked next to the driver side fender. Just a little bare metal post sticking out.

I know I had my car for months before I took a look. Of course I do not have a spare on my 2011. Does the 2012 have a spare, I did not think so?

Bill

Nope...no spare...for the SS cars, anyway. Why? Because you'd need a spare that's tall enough to have equal circumference with a non-flat rear tire because of the limited slip diff, and a tire short enough to match the front wheel, since the wheel sizes are different front and back. They'd have to give you two spares, which is too costly and would take up too much room, not to mention, add weight. Instead you get a fix-a-flat kit and a compressor.

I got the battery delete option. It absorbs gamma rays from the atmosphere for power.
