Speedometer Trim Re-install
I have searched high and low for a thread that goes into detail about the removal and reinstall of the speedometer trim. everyone says it just pops right out - NOT THE CASE! Wanted to avoid using brute force to rip the piece out, so it took me a half hour to figure out how to get the black rubber at the bottom out of the car, and now that it's out, I'm still having a tough time taking it off the silver hard plastic bezel.
The real question is how I'm going to get it back in there, tucked all nice and neat inside the dash. Help!

Hi Mac, you can use a interior tool, kind of line a plastic putty knife. get it at the top and work your way around popping it out, then the black rubber at the bottom has i think 3 rubber plugs, nipples or something like that, pull them out of the the bezel. don't worry it will all tuck away just fine

Cool - sorry I missed your call back, was on the phone with my pops
![]() About to head out to the whip and try putting it back together. The excitement was just too much and couldn't wait. Since the rest of it is more challenging, I'll have to be satisfied with this

I just removed mine yesterday to do some paint work. I just took off the bezels, not the rubber piece. Havent put it back yet but should be easier then taking it off!

Eventually got everything put back together. Really just needed the force I was too scared to provide at first. After a few shifts into hulk mode, I was able to take care of it.
