Yup. It's a fleet average sold by the car companies. I guess there is a fine levied if they don't make the average?

Ether way they're gonna have to sell more 40 mpg cars to get rid of one 20 mpg car if they keep the horse power wars going.

OMG, I never really thought about the electric cars. So if they can sell enough Volts (or Ford, Dodge equivelents) then it would be pretty easy to make the CAFE standard. Hmmmm.............. So what's the big deal with CAFE?
