Just went on their Facebook page after forgetting about it for awhile - unbelievable that they still haven't shipped the product. I thought for sure they would have shipped by now.

HAHA..I posted (in reply to someone asking if they had shipped yet) on their facebook page. "No - just a bunch of broken promises - caveat emptor". A short while later my post was deleted of course. I haven't tried to post again, but I suspect I'm banned.. no loss. Would never purchase one of these, no matter how cool they look, even after I win powerball tonight.

There's a reason GM isn't doing something like this.

This from FBodfather in response to some conjecture about the 2014 refresh having hideaways. But the link he posted doesn't work.

also - people tell us the car weighs too much - adding Hideaways would only add to the complexity of build PLUS add weight..............

The link doesn't work because it's a joke...

They've locked out comments on their youtube page too; the one where they were supposed to upload "installation video" last week.

I love how they can show videos of it with zero problem when it's off the car...but when asked to see one ON the car, they need to wait for professional videographers and the upload times are way too long and the computers keep crashing.

A video of your product...in the living room. In front of a bright red couch. Above an abstract painting. Wow.

These folks got to learn how to be professionals. Use a warehouse. Remove the chance for criticism by fixing the sync issue. That differentiates them as a company vs. "a bunch of dudes".

On the plus side, it does look clean. But that sync issue shows the quality of the product. Turn off for consumers.

I'm guessing the reason they've never shown it installed is because it doesn't work when installed. Pro'bly a clearance issue.

And I wonder if they're using seperate motors for each door? A single motor running a single gear train (or something) would open the doors evenly. I think.

Love the fact that when opened it blocks off the majority of airflow through the upper grill to the radiator. Still a winner.

notice the tube lines in the back of the center piece? they are going towards the bottom of the bumper....

Its behind a couch and close's uneven because they have a guy hidden behind it with two cordless drills hes pulling the trigger on to open and close, his right trigger finger is just a tad quicker than his left

They are really ragging on this thread on FB saying we are stirring the pot and making false claims. After almost 2 years, it's finally on a car. Poor quality video because this forum rushed them to squash all of our doubts. I encourage everyone to visit their page for a laugh.

Uh ohhh...it's snowing. 4 month delay.

I will admit, it does look good...but they need to get the motors synced up.

Out of curiosity, does anyone here have anything vested in this grille? If not, why does it seem to bother you so much? Just curious....

I was going to purchase it way back...but something didn't feel right about it and I decided to opt out of the "early buy-in" at the reduced rate to see a "closer to final" product.

Months and months went by with zero updates and just dragging people along with excuse after excuse.

So no, no vested interest...it's just that the interest was initially there, and I really was digging this project until it became comical. It really is a shame because I do feel that the idea was great, the piece could've been a huge hit...but the delays, lies, and lack of "professionalism" really turned me and many people off.

I personally just pop in and keep track of it because I have already put so much "time" following the process at the beginning that I feel that I have to see it to the end.

Kind of like "The Office." I still watch it even though it's just horrible...but I feel that I have to see it until the end.

I like to keep lines on companies who never deliver, take money under false pretenses or just promise more than they have any way of delivering, yet still keep at it......and I think that companies or individuals that do that should be pointed out on a regular basis and often, so when they start doing the same thing as they are on other projects, people who weren't around for the first fiasco are warned before they fall for the new ones.......

Everyone should feel "vested" in helping others who don't know due to cover ups by the companies or individual to keep informed before they are taken by crooks.......

if they weren't constantly deleting and actively hiding everything bad about this old project in order to fool the new investors, I wouldn't be as active about it. But they are investing alot of time in cleaning up their websites and getting others shut down if anyone points out their failings, which is even more shady than the failure to deliver.

The way I look at it, one day, someone will come along - see the pictures and video, and be like "I WANT THAT GRILLE SO BAD, I'D SELL MY SOUL TO GET IT." and do something stupid like spend the rent payment to get it fast.

That poor soul can read this thread, and save themselves the heartbreak.

Besides, like we have anything better to do, its the internet. Troll city.

E

PS. I thought it was good of you to interject your peace about them refunding you. It's always good to see the good and bad about a vendor.

I would've had zero problem if they did this project right from the beginning.

Start up a kickstarter program to get the interest and initial funds to get the project off the ground. Continually update the "investors" and continue to get the word out. Once the project is complete, you have a bunch of happy people that feel that they were a part of making something really cool a reality.

That's what kickstarter is there for. People that have ideas but don't have the "up-front" money to get it off the ground.
