That looks really great. Your dealer did a helluva job. I may have to think about getting painted stripes when I get mine. It's just such a crapshoot as to whether the job will be as well done as yours was.

Good thing your dealership is 10 minutes from my house

Very Very Nice!!

I was already going to have my stripes painted on as in my avatar, longer and wider than stock. Lately I have also been looking at the stock stripes shape and length thinking the same as you on trying to keep the stock configuration. Your paint and striping looks beautiful. Now I have more to think about and your pics will give me something to look at. Either way I will definately have them painted on. I never have liked decals. They start going downhill the very first day they are put on.

That is awesome looking. Painting them on is the best thing you could have done.
You have eliminated so many problems associated with the stick ons. Great job and congrats.

Amazingly good pictures showing the quality of the shine and reflection. Kudos to the paint dept at your dealer! I think you made an excellent choice.

I'm already talking to my dealer about custom painted stripes. Going to call the dealer that did his stripes though tomorrow for a price.

Pics? Of COURSE!

What wheels are they ?? I believe they are the 20's but angle of the picture to me looks like they are bigger.

Just talked to Mike in the body shop.

He quoted me $2500 for this paint job.

WAY too high in my opinion. Asked him to call me if they decided to do it cheaper. It is a beautiful paint job though.

Haha not at all! Hey I wonder why I'm not using one of my own pics

Yea, it sounded like he really didn't know "what" to quote me...so he threw that number out there. I'm hoping either they come WAY down in price - or my dealer offers to do it a lot cheaper.

If it's too much - I'm sticking with my flat rally stripes.....

Are you talking about Lou Lariche body shop?

I have an SS on order there and had my salesman call me to take a look at Snook’s car on Friday because I would like to do something similar to mine when it comes in. I talked with the painter and the head of the body shop and they gave me a rough quote of $2000-$2500 as well.

I also asked about having go stripes all the way off the front or do the bumble bee stripes. They were very hesitant to sand down the clear coat on front fascia. They said it would cost at a minimum an additional $500 because they would most likely have to repaint the whole front fascia. They were also worried about the durability as well. They suggested a one stage on top of the current clear coat if I wanted to go on the front fascia.

I plan to get this quoted at other shops as well. I work right by Fischer Collision in Farmington Hills and they have been featured on Autoblog for some of their work.

I will keep you updated on other quotes.

Yes exactly - Lou LaRiche.

Yea, $2000-$2500 is very expensive for this. He did say they went under the base coat so that you couldn't "feel" the stripe - which is more work. He said it'd be half that price to just paint over top of the clearcoat - but then you would feel the edges and what not - honestly - might just stick with Vinyl in that case...

I'm waiting to see what my dealership can do for me....

Also yea, I wouldn't do the front bumper - repainting always weakens the paint and leaves it more vulnerable to chipping... (or almost always).
