Yet Another Disappointed AAC Customer **Pic heavy
I have tried to be Patient with AAC, but very frustrated at this point. I recently placed an order over $1200 for several LED products. Included in the sale was a lit rear Bow Tie. How hard is it to produce a product that is undamaged?? How can a product pass QA when different problems happen once, twice and now a third time.
I received the first Bow Tie over 1 mo ago. As shown in photos the item is clearly scratched!! I contacted AAC and requested a new bow tie, but needed ASAP for install. In order to receive ASAP I paid for a second bow tie while shipping the damage one in return. AAC agreed and produced a second bow tie. When receiving a second bow tie the plexiglass had tons of nicks/cuts surrounding the plexiglass. AAC first stated that all plexiglass comes with these types of flaws, but I explained the first bow tie had no nicks around the plexi? This concerned me, but they decided to replace the second bow tie after photos taken/sent showing damage. (I have now paid for a total of three bow ties, but assured they will credit back two when returning) I was more than grateful and excited they were willing to work with me on resolving this issue. The third bow tie arrived yesterday. 1 mo after original order being placed. The third bow tie did is not attached properly to the plexiglass and now lifting up on one side. On the same side you are also able to see the mill work from the LED with a Nick in the Chrome. I called AAC questioning the adhesion and the possibility of water damage. AAC instructed to send all three bow ties back and would fix the issue or replace the bow tie upon examination. This sounds like a great offer, however my car has been in the shop and needs the bow tie to meet a deadline next week. To top things off I have paid to be in a Car show on the 18th. I offered to pay for yet another bow tie to speed along the process, but was denied. As instructed I shipped all bow ties back today which will arrive sometime Tues. They will assess damage and possibly ship another out Wed or Thurs at the latest. This will prolong the install by another week. VERY FRUSTRATING. More than likely I will not be able to attend the car show since and will delay shop from meeting their deadline. My concern and frustration is meeting these deadlines since ordering the part 1 mo ago. I have offered additional money to the price of the bow tie in hopes to have before next Tues, but the manager of AAC continues to Deny until seeing other three. I have sent all photos below with detailed description to AAC showing obvious damage. Am I being unreasonable to think AAC should correct the issue and send another bow tie out ASAP without scratches/nicks in chrome or plexiglass, proper adhesion of bow tie on plexiglass and no mill work showing???? Oh yes, don't let me forget proper alignment of bow tie on the plexi. On the third bow tie one side had a definite edge to the plexi where the other side (not adhering) had no definite edge of plexi. See photos below and see if I am being unreasonable. ![]() My only question is, couldn't you still finish whatever work you are doing and just not use the custom bowtie and still go to the car show? I don't think I would let a small item like that push me to not show up.

Thank you for your feedback. I was going to get the Concept Sidemarkers from them. However now that I know what you have said about their items I won't be buying from them.

That is always a possibility, but wanted to enter the car in couple of the showings and categories. It also makes it a hassle to go and pick up and reschedule another time at the shop. Easier when the car is already there. Time is money on my end and the shops

My problem is the QA going out the door. Melissa (sales person) has been very helpful and nice along the way, but the manager of AAC today was unwilling to sell me another without the other three back. I explained my shops situation along with upcoming car show. It made no difference. I understand there position about wanting to see what type of product is going out the door, but those photos are directly out of the box. Even upon seeing the photos unwilling to expedite a new bow tie for deadlines

When I bought all the items from AAC my initial sales person was Melissa. I contacted AAC via phone for my order. I wanted to make sure all the parts were correct since having a lot of specific wiring done. I purchased Side markers, Color shift Halos with upgraded remote and box, Color shift fogs, Color shift grill strands, Color shift Fender vent grill strands, 4 flush mount switches and rear bow tie. After order placed I found several posts about receiving a discount on AAC products when a camaro5 member. There was a slight discount placed on Concept side markers, but nothing mentioned about Color Shift Halos. When contacting Jonathan I was told next time to call him directly for discounts. Apparently, since not contacting him first I was unable to receive discount that members have been receiving on Halos. He stated that Melissa made the sale and it was her commission so nothing he could do. I even made a second ploy without any luck. However, Jonathan did give a very minimal discount when having to order more switches, but nothing close to the Halo discount I should have received. He stated, once the sale was completed through Melissa he could not honor the discount. Mind you this was near a 1200 order. Isn't AAC all one company working together?? Discounts should be honored no matter who sells the item. Again no beef with Jonathan, but found it funny when you mentioned I should contact him. |

Well basically Jonathan is cutting his own commission to save us some money. Now again, why have you not returned the damaged bowties?

Pictures don't really show everything. They probably want to go over the bowtie with a fine toothed comb.

I agree they do need to go over items with a fine toothed comb. If they did, problems and complaints would be avoided. |

There is no way those bowties should have gone out like that there is no excuse for THAT kind of work. NONE Period.

I learned my lesson early with AAC, back in March of 2010. Since then the horror stories continue and yet people continue to buy from these guys and the mods continue to allow them to hock their trash to people of this site. It doesn't make sense at all. Funny, their shyt works on their show car enough to make you drool and want their product but the stuff either comes not working correctly or damaged and then to pay to send it back to them before they send you a replacement that's subject to be bad as well.
When it comes to sidemarkers I had to go with Showstoppers who makes the same product and I've yet to hear of any issues whatsoever on water leaks or bad LEDs in the product. If you have money and time to waste, please, send it to me. I'll provide a paypal address and you'll get nothing and I'll use your money toward my ZL1 fund. Thank you very much and stay thirsty my friends!

Yea, I changed my mind about changing the sidemarkers anyway because I want to save up for a ZL1 hood w/insert.
