bolt on v6 vs Ford F-150(v8)

the v6 has:
DT shorties.
VR intake
Vmax TB
flowmaster super 44 mufflers
trifecta tune

ford is stock i think.

This is true... for the most part... HOWEVER depends on what year F-150 and which model/engine... Could be a 13 second Lightning! LOL!

Buy yeah, the V6 Camaro should take a stock F-150...

Only trucks you may need to worry about are the Lightnings, and Ecoboost.

EcoBoost (while not a V8) would definitely be a good race! Slight edge to the Camaro...

Even if it is a new EcoBoost F-150, or the 6.2L F-150, you should win. You're moderately modded, and the F150 weighs at least 5000 pounds.

looks like the 6.2 is slightly slower than the EcoBoost... For the EcoBoost:

2011 Ford F-150 Lariat EcoBoost 4x4 (3.5L Twin Turbo V6) 0-60 mph 6.1 Quarter Mile 14.6

Our Flex weighs in at 5185 with me in it... 100% stock I was running 14.2.. Not stock any more though.... LOL!

I'm thinking the OP maybe in the lower 14s... maybe mid-14s if he's never had it to the track and got some seat time..

How would he stack up up against a Toyota Tundra (slightly modded)?

I've driven an eco-boost He doesnt need to worry about it.

If the truck is anything current they make and is stock you should have the win. Of course driver and air make a huge difference, but your car is capable of mid to upper 5 sec to 60 or better, and also capable of stepping well into the 13s inthe quarter.

No worries.

Perhaps the Ram. Do they still make a 2WD, regular cab, short wheel base version with the Hemi? They did a few years ago.

Yes they still do, they do 0-60 in 5.7..... It's reg cab Dodge Ram R/t 5.7 Hemi 390 hp with a 4.10 axle and weighs 4700 lbs.

14.4 @ 93.4.... That 0-60 time is wicked fast for the trap speed. I am guessing it falls flat on it's face at the end of 3rd gear ?

-My 15 year old Mazda Millenia ran high 15's but trapped 91-93 mph. My buddy's 4.8 Silverado RC runs mid 15's and traps 94.

One of the Lightning tuners tuned a 2011 F150 with the 5.0 in it. With a CAI, tune and muffler it has gone 12.9 @104. Put down something like 355 whp/ 365 rwtq. Not bad for a pickup. Would give most Lightnings a run for their money.

Only the RAM R/T shortbed with the low gearing has an a decent advantage over the Camaro V6.

Your uncle's truck will be slower than that. Might be fun for the first few seconds from a dig but you will pull away....should be the same on a highway run.

Not 100% sure, guy at local truck meet just has bolt ons and tune and is running mid-high 13's @ 100-101 mph with RC Ram R/t 5.7, mid-high 12's on DR's and 100 shot.

lol. Seriously, how does a truck that weight 2000 lbs more than a GT manage to get that time with roughly the same amont of horsepower?

F-150 weigh about 1,400 pounds more not 2,000... Stock a 5.0 GT will run 12.7... The F-150 is tuned, CAI, and exhaust... The F-150 may have better gearing... hmmmm... but yeah... i'm going to say 12.9 is simply not possible...

Also did some F-150 forum searching... guys with intakes and tunes are running low 14s...

Now I did find this... Supposedly a 12.92 BUT it took a 75 shot of N2O to get there!

I have about zero experience with trucks other than the 2006 Ram diesel I have BUT... I currently have a 2011 F150 5.0 company veicle that seems to run pretty damn good. I have never jumped on it from a dig but it seems pretty quick.

Maybe its just feels faster than a truck should but its pretty impressive.

Be careful of the diesels! There are plenty of 10-12 second crew cab, long bed 4x4 diesel trucks out there that will embarrass any mustang out camaro V8 owner! I keep my mouth shut when some monstrous modified diesel is stalking me.

Seen that... it's getting some good and bad reviews.... Personally I would wait for SCT to release theirs, so I could have it tuned somewhere like Livernois!

I've got the Livernois Stage 4+ tune on The Red Brick of Vengeance... I picked up like 80 ft/lbs at 2500 RPM!!!

I'm running 13.4 in BRICK that tips the scales at 5185 with driver! And that was with JUST A TUNE! I picked up close to 20 HP with an axle-back... waiting for the tracks to open in the spring to confirm that against what the dyno said....

LOVE MY ECOBOOST! LOL!

People don't seem to be getting very consistent results from the BullyDog. I'm waiting to see what others like SCT come up with. Of course, the biggest problem I've had with the F150 is the wheel hop. Once things get warmed up again I'm going to try some launches with it in 4X4 to see if that helps. 420 ft-lbs of torque at 2500 RPM is already a lot on a vehicle with no weight in the back.
