Like I said before, I don't really want a racecar, just something to set my SS apart and also not be intimidated by a 5.0 that pulls up without a snake logo.
chances are for the warranty, your motor has to be otherwise stock, use the edelbrock "canned tune" (so no headers....sorry), and be installed by an edelbrock certified installer.

have you done the supporting mods yet? I was the same way.. sc or not, but once tuned with the supporting mod this car becomes a beast in its own as well. Headers, exhaust, intake, and a mild to aggressive cam will blow you away.

If you still want a warranty then you can go to SLP with your low milage and they will upgrade you to a ZL car. The warranty is 5 years/100,000 miles and you can take it to any GM dealer to get it repaired.

Take the time to read some of the posts on the Forced Induction forum further down the index page. You'll need to determine your build objectives.

The warranty is there to stop you from having fun with your car. Do it! I voided my warranty at about 300 miles on the odometer. It was very liberating.

Seriously though, you have to decide if you're willing to take the risk. Many of us have supercharged our car without issues.

Contact SLP and get a their SC, a Maggie TVS 2300 installed by your Chevy dealer, a licensed GM tech or SLP and enjoy either a 3/36 or 5/100k powertrain warranty, while your bumper to bumper stays the same through GM. I know, I did it, I have a warrantied 650 HP brand new 2011 2 SS/RS, that I created along with my Chevy dealer.

Bottom line, don't believe everything you read from people that haven't done their research. I did mine, and constantly praise SLP and the work they do.

Thanks! Actually, one of the recommend installers for SLP is less than an hour from me. I will probably pay them a visit. Thanks for all the advice folks!

Go Big!

When you are spending the amount of dough ($15k+) on motor, driveline & suspension upgrades.....why worry about a dealer warranty? Need work, just pay cash.....

That SLP idea is not a bad one - they do nice work. As far as the "Canned Tune" for Edelbrock is concerned...they work with installers to get the most out of the car. Mine is dyno tuned with the warranty in place. Edelbrock was in on the tune. Not sure about the headers though.

Be nice if I knew I'd have the cash to pay for unforseen expenses and not having a warranty... I haven't seen any trees around here with money growing on them....

Another good thing about SLP is you can build whatever package you want. You want just the SC, you got it, you want to add exhaust, done....the possibilities are endless. I stayed away from all they appearance upgrades, and went with their SC & Loudmouth II exhaust (about $8000 installed), everything else I upgraded on my own.

I am sure I will regret it if I break something, but you have to pay to play right?
