What would you do with AAC

Here is the scenario.....Recently I posted about AAC and the purchase of a lighted Bow Tie. The first two were garbage having scratches on the chrome and nicks all on the plexi glass. The third Tie sent had milling that was seen on the plexi glass and Chevy emblem lifting up from Plexi. I voice my concerns via email and over the phone. I was denied a "New" Bow Tie and instructed to send third Bow Tie in for inspection. Prior to sending to AAC I informed them of my expectations and not wanting to see any mill work from LED's on the side or other flaws such as nicks, scratches or sloppy glue work. I also informed AAC of a deadline that was being met by my shop to have car back in time for Car show on the 18th. AAC assured me they would fix the issue and ship directly to the shop for install and not to worry. When inquiring about the Bow Tie I was assured by the manager of AAC that everything was in tip top shape and passed there quality control. In fact this is the email received when showing the photos below from Tiffany the Manager of AAC.

"Gary
Your last bowtie that left here was inspected thoroughly. We can not build you another one."

So I am going to let you decide and see what you think. Does this look like a top notch quality product placed on a show car??

This is the passenger side of the tie

This is the drivers side of the tie that was repaired and by AAC standards passing inspection. Let me know what you think----Look ok to you?? That is milling on the plexiglass and who knows what else.

that's the norm for AAC. they "normally" have good stuff but their QC lacks more often than not.

call them up and hopefully they will be nice and replace the unit.

I spoke with them and they refuse to sell me another!! They assured me with the deadline that shipping directly to installer would be quicker an they would gaurantee perfection. The bow tie is installed now and looks like crap!! It's not the installer I hold responsible but AAC . They are now saying the installer saw and also approved what a load of trying to pass the buck. I told them they need to replace the Bowtie and cover all cost or re install. They are refusing stating they will offer a refund but that's it. I don't want a refund I want a bow tie that looks like new. This looks like a 12 yr old put together in glue class. It's not my fault they sent three bow ties all defective. I not trying to be difficult just compensated for something that looks this bad. You should see photos of the other bow ties sent. Geeze

Gary - When we inspected the bowtie before it left, it did not look like this. It looks like the 3M is not holding on one side. We will send you a new one.

In my emails, I also asked for pictures so that we could see any problems that may have happened after they left here, which I did not get. This is the first time I am seeing this.

Please check your emails for more information about the new bowtie.

Glad he helped you. Sometimes you just have to get lucky and find the right person.

Also I'm sure blasting their name with bad photos helped.

Not sure where you got that info? I was willing to send all bow ties back. I agreed with AAC to send the first defective bow tie back once second tie arrived which also had the shipping return label for first defective product.

Once the second defective tie arrived I spoke with AAC and stated I would be returning both defective bow ties toghther once the third arrived. They agreed to send another shipping label with yet the third bow tie. Once the third tie was found defective I sent all three back ASAP.

My goal was to have a non defective bow tie that would be void of obvious flaws.

As stated after showing AAC final bow tie sent to place on car from pics above they agreed to send out replacement.

Never was my intention to be a pain in the A$$, but only to receive an item that was without flaws. I spent over $1400 with AAC in the last month and have purchased items recently. I like there products, but had a tough time with the bow tie. All other products looked fantastic.

Even though I had some difficulty I would order from AAC again. They stepped up and correct the issue.

When I had a bad sidemarker from them I called and had no problem with them. I did pay for a new one and once I returned mine I was credited back. I wasn't real happy with that but I do understand why it is done that way.

I have heard many complaints about AAC and nothing positive. Guess this is one company I should avoid.

As with anything, the bad will always highlight over the good. I have purchased from AAC as have many many others on this site. I plan on giving them my business again,
Everyone will not always be satisfied all the time. Just thought I would add my 2 cents.

I do feel the OP's frustration

Funny, the more I hear the more I realize they stand behind their work... $hit happens, and they fix it when they can.

I hear complaints from the same people over and over, I read a lot more complements about them than anything. You should really read more threads than just the bad ones... I have several of their products and I am completely happy with them. I will admit my bowtie was not "Perfect" But I have the ability and skill to make it right on my end. Not a big deal.

I had the same quality control issues with the led sidemarkers from AAC. After 3 tries, they still couldn't get it right. They claimed they hand inspected the last set they sent me and they said nothing was wrong with them. The paint job was horrible. I never installed the markers and I don't buy from AAC anymore.

There stuff should be inspected , people want new stuff to be absolutely perfect for good $$$ reason. I will always get my lighting from them because they always warranty there products. If you buy cheap ebay lights and a year later they go out your gonna have to buy more. I believe AAC has lifetime warranty on there bulbs and they usually have good customer service.
