Drag Racing Jannetty Prepped Richmond 4.11 Rear End?

I emailed Ted and he recommended I go with his LPE 3.91 rear based on my racing habits and rwhp. I was wondering if anyone has any actual experience with one of his prepped rear ends with the Richmond 4.11? Obviously, I read all the threads about Richmond 4.10 gears breaking on the strip, but I'd rather have 4.11 than 3.91. It seems possible that JRE's billet caps might add enough toughness to the rear to keep the Richmonds from going south for a winter in perpetuity.

I do about 75 1/4 mi runs/season.

If you do some additional research - you will discover the Richmond 4.11's are having the same problem.....take Ted's advice & go with the LPE 3.91!

I listened to Ted and went with 3:91's.

I swapped out my Richmond 4:10s with LPE 391s. Take Jannetty's advice.

There is another gear option out there....U.S. Gear just recently released their own 4.10's or 4.11's (can't remember which it is). Supposedly, they are stronger than the Richmonds. Unfortunately, I haven't heard any real "user" feedback about them yet, so you'd be sorta the guinea pig. Somebody as some point has to try them!!! Just letting you know there is another option out there beside Richmond in the gear ratio you want.....

I too had the same ? last week and ended up sending Ted an e-mail.... I want an quality 410 or 411 but am worriied about the failures and wonder why lpe does not make a 410 or 411??? and only the 3.91. Anyway, Ted recommended the 3.91 but suggested that I go with his pre-built 3.91 diff. but it costs like over 2k. I am making 460 rwhp with n/a cam, headers, 3" stainless works, c.a.i. and dyno tune. Anyway, i'm certainly not an expert in anyway when it comes to rearends but i wanted to make sure that a 3.91 was a low enough gear for my car , I dont want to spend $1500 bucks for a ring and pinion and install and then wish i would've went with a 4.10 or 4.11!!!
