Many people have been dissatisfied with the factory Hurst. Might wanna check out some more before you make this purchase. I would suggest an aftermarket short throw.

The factory Hurst is an excellent shifter. I've heard lots of complaints on aftermarket shifters.

Well how good of a deal is it? If its cheap then it you aren't risking too much if you end up not liking it or wanting an even shorter throw.

The aftermarket one has a much shorter throw and can be had for around $300. Unless you can get it for less then that I wouldn't bother.

Also while it will fit you do need the bracket for proper alignment. I believe the Hurst rep has mentioned it on here.

What I think I've learned is this...to go from stock to factory hurst, ideally you would also need the other bracket mentioned...although I have heard of the factory hurst being added without the companion bracket, and I believe it will work, just not the ideal geometry...
The hurst billet aftermarket will install into either stock of factory hurst bracket...

The factory is about twenty some percent shorter than stock...hurst billet is about 40 percent shorter throw than stock...good luck...

And this is the reason some people have disliked the non factory Hurst shifter.

...and also the reason some people do like it!...Why buy a short throw shifter, than say "Damn it, the throw is short!"...I think the Barton is even closer to fifty percent shorter than stock.
