It could cost you up to 3k depending on your area and how good/well known/swamped the shop is. It could also cost you 1k from a shop hard up for work.

Whether you want to go with the cheap shop that may or may not get it right or the expensive shop (as long as they're reputable) that stands by their work and will get it right the first time is up to you.

3k seems a bit high, I think 2300 should cover it.

My bad thought it was just a cam swap, 2300 does seem more reasonable for a top shop.

I'm paying 1700 for mine, fyi.

OP, what I can say is, find a reputable shop that works on ls motors and or vettes...you probably can get a good deal. However you are going inernally to the motor, I personally chose to Pay the little bit extra for the outstanding reputation the shop has....Every cam install horror story I read im glad I did.

Mine is in the shop right now...

2700 for Parts and included all fluids (price is a bit higher for parts because it is an auto doing a conversion)
-LS3 Conversion
-Cam
-3000 Torque Converter (was around 1k with fluids)
-Vmax ported TB (150)
-Melling oil pump (70)
-Transmission cooler (70-90)

Mike Norris gave me a package deal, so I don't really know what the conversion and cam price was... but the total package price with all the supporting mods seemed very fair.

Install for everything - $1500
Dyno Tune - $500.

Nesmith Chevrolet in Claxton Georgia quoted me $1100 parts and labor. But they said this price depended on the lifter retainers being able to hold the lifters up. They said on higher mileage motors, sometimes the won't hold. But since I had under 10k, it shouldn't be a problem. Mine would be cheaper since it is a 6spd. The auto is higher due to the conversion needed.

You should come down to Texas, well known private installers do cam/spring installs on LSx motors for $200!

I'm all about racing on a budget. I bought a really nice used cam for $100, some TSP valve springs for $286 and a jug of coolant for $10! Cammed for under $400!

$4700 total for the cam/conversion, but that included its supporting mods I listed above....again, mine is a bit higher because of it is an L99 and we are removing VVT/DOD
