Installed strips for $547.00

Wanted to know if my dealer was trying to shaft me by paying 547.00 for stripes installed or is this price over or under?

You dont "install" paint, so you cant be talkin custom. The stock rallies? It should not be any additional cost over the purchase. - SHAFT ALERT -

So are you saying that once you purchase the rallies, installation is free?

If you ordered the rally stripes with the car (appear on window sticker), then the installation cost is included. If you ordered them through the dealer and not with the car, then the installation cost is not included.

That makes sense. So since now that I am at 3400 and I decided to order the stripes, would it show up on window sticker? Also if it doesn't show up on window sticker do you all think that's a decent deal, only 77.00 for installation. If they screwed up my strips and I wasn't satisfied, would my dealer be required to order more stripes at his on expense?

Yeah, thats a good deal if it wasnt ordered through the factory. And.. if they are jacked up, yes, it will be his problem to replace your stripes and put them on right. (if they give you crap Im sure you can go through GM)

It's a good deal at only $77 for installation. You can't get them added to your window sticker unless you want to pull your car back to 2000 to make the changes...

If they screw up the stripes (which they shouldn't) they should have to get you new ones. One of the guys here said his installation was $250 from a "pro" that the dealer brought in from the outside.

For the people saying there shouldn't be a charge for installation...Let me ask you a question...would you work for free? Installation fee pays the guy that installs them, not dealer profit. Get over yourself.

If you order the stripes from factory, the installation is not free but is included in the price you are paying.. Nothing is free and when people talk about free you should know what it means..

^ you are correct. I saw a price chart on here somewhere and the dealers are reimbursed $105 (I think) for installation.

Rally stripes are $395

Please go here to verify what your dealer is charging for installation.
http://www.gm.oeaccessories.com/Home/index.aspx

the average total is $500-$580

Rolnslo is correct, but it's too late to add the stripes if you're at 3400. You'll have to purchase them through GM Accessories online or GMPP through your dealer and installation will be extra. At CamaroScotty's parts dept. site, http://www.gm.oeaccessories.com/newman/ the installation is $198.00

$198 to install.....You could always BUY THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE, and have them installed somewhere else.

$395 is MSRP for the stripes....but we're selling them for $335.75 + Shipping.

i would take them home and do it vinyl is super easy to install i would pay someone 50 bucks to pass a squeegie over some wet plastic. i did my stripes in 30 minutes.. not including cutting, and the gm ones come precut.

The average joe wont be able to put the stripes on . your flat Mustang Hood would be no problem, but the scoop area as it tapers down to the from will pose a problem for a rookie.
Pay some one to do them! You guys just spent 40+ on a car ....geez

He's got a point. After seeing them installed I thought I could probably install them myself .... it's really not hard at all IMO. But at least if they screw up - they have to redo them - just like they are doing for my rears.

you get 10 minutes to screw up with wet vinyl... lay it down squeegie the air bubbles out, let dry lol not worth anywhere near a hundred bucks.
