NEW PERSONAL BEST on El Mero Maro TUNE ONLY

Was up guys i am so happy what the car ran last night. This is on tune only camaro L99 and straight pipe i think its a record for tune only camaro L99. And last night wasnt the best weather either so it has more left in it, not much but something lol btw the car weighted 4110 this is with stuff in the back and full weight on street tires.

Excellent time, but what's a "straight pipe."

Do you have headers or just no cats, or just no mufflers and a tune. Some guys use the term
"straight pipe" to mean they have a full exhaust with no cats. Other use the term to mean they don't have cats. Some others use it to mean they don't have any mufflers.

Either way great run. .
The fastest time in this forum for just basic mods is GMRULZ with a 12.2 in the 1/4 mile with just intake, headers, and a tune (stock tires). He had some really nice air (cold) for that time.
I'm not sure what the fastest time is for just exhaust mods and a tune (no intake).

What track did you run on? Houston Raceway had a negative 400 ft DA Friday night. So the conditions were actually excellent for fast times on the 24th down in S.E. Texas.

Get yourself so drag radials and you should be able to get down in the low 12s.

thanks man and by straight pipe i mean no cats, no resonators, nor mufflers only and x pipe to hold back pressure and thats it, no headers at all. thats why i took the pic of the engine bay and yes it was in houston

Not bad for the mods. You probably would have ran a 12.4 if you didn't have the junk in the trunk.

FAST intake is a waste unless you do at least a large cam. I just bought one because I wanted to get every last HP I could from my build. According to LG they dont even pick up much power on a H/C car unless they are coupled with a 102 TB. From several dyno tests Anthony at LG says you will only get an additional 10-15 rwhp from the fast intake and 102 TB on a H/C car. No measurable gains from the 102 intake alone.

On a bolt on car you are wasting your money for sure.

All in all it really isnt the best mod for the money...just depends on your budget and what you want I suppose.

Yeah, I saw a dyno test on a mildly modded 5th gen and the car made 0 rwhp and actually lost TQ down low with a Fast Intake. They ended up putting the stock intake back on the car.
So unless the car is seriously modded, its not the best mod.
