On a serious note, viper makes some good systems.

Just be aware, if you were keyed, it is VERY hard to detect that unless you have your impact sensor up ALL the way to where it goes off when a gnat hovers too close. :(

Viper 5901, it has shock sensors and remote start. I had to lower my sensitivity of my sensors, when cars with a loud exhaust drove by it set my alarm off.

My car is parked next to a marked LEO car. Pretty good protection so far... been over a year. He's not known to be a nice guy, so I think his rep helps out some too.

They can still break into a garage. I have a garage and still arm my Viper when I park my car.

Viper and the DEI products are pretty good although I like Autopage as well. If your worried about vandalism a regular shock sensor won't do too much. Keying doesn't create enough impact to trigger it unless you have it cranked up and then it WILL false constantly.

A dual zone field disturbance (radar) sensor would work better. You can crank up the warning zone to a foot away from your car and that will sense somone getting close while setting the alarm zone right at the car if they get up on it.

An alarm is only as good as the install remember, if a thief can just reach under the drivers dash and disconnect it (or the battery) its useless.

You can PM me if you have some specific questions.

I have the Viper 5701, doesn't have the range of the 5901 so I can't remote start it from a mile away but if I am with in a football field or so I can...LOL. works good, a strong gust of wind will make it chirp but hasn't gone off unattended. just be sure to turn it off when you wash your car, damn thing will give you a heart attack if you don't! LOL
