Strong MAF

I've read some pretty different accounts of what the deal is with these on the forum, and i still have some questions.

Has chevy been producing the "weak" model all through the production years ?ex. 10-12

I've read that as many as 90% have the "strong" sensor, is this correct?

Was the selection of the MAF completely random or did it have to do with the packages for the car?

Early builds like mine went out with the weak MAF. No specific vin range that I know of. Just check the code and replace if needed. If your staying stock just leave it be.

It was and is completely random. Their are two companies that make the MAF sensor - it's blind luck to which one you get.

This. It is not limited to any specific model year. Give this a read for more info.

I replaced mine and couldn't tell a difference... although I added a cam at the same time

so.... any input from me is null and void

lol, Is it your daily driver? I am thinking about getting one but I put about 4,000 miles a months on my car. I'm also worried if it puts me at a higher risk of having any drivetrain issues.

I said I was done with mods after cai but I already got a tune so no warranty. Why not slap on a cam as well?

daily driver...

I have almost 95,000 miles on my car... over 20K of that is with the cam. I am pretty sure that I own the record for most miles on a cammed C5 Camaro.

I wouldn't trade it for a Z06... and I know what I am saying here, because I have a Z06.
