Thanks for the info, does your steering wheel controls work OK? I've read a lot of complaints that these controls are hard to get working.

Yes the steering controls works flawless, its plug and play.....

Pandora works with any phone you just need to plug one on the auxiliary headphone jacks plug to your phone and stream it.

Oh yes it does..... I'll tell you I don't have not one....well Only one issue, the voice on the nav. Turn by turn does not work and I think it's cause I disconnected the center speaker not sure but when I get around to it I'll repost my findings.....

The connector is different from you stock to aftermarket for xm? I was able to connect my pioneer right up to my GMC Duramax to use the factory roof xm antenna.

400 BT required?

Did you have to install the 400BT interface to retain bluetooth? I bought the same kit but an unclear on if I need to purchase it. If you did not use the 400 BT is your steering wheel controls ok with hands free ? Tks Cory

No, if you got the Alpine W910 you don't need the interface, it's with the radio..... The radio has a headphone jack that plugs to the harness that came with the installation kit that plugs right in to the back of the radio for the Steering wheel controls......

Again it's plug and play if you using the Alpine install kit and the Alpine W910 unit.

I bought the 900bt, but it also says it is bluetooth ready. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks! I think the 400bt is for cars w/o bluetooth capability ( I think)

OP since you have the same stuff i just bought Alpine w910 and alpine Dash kit (KTX-CMO).

A few questions for you,

Do i need any adapaters/cables for the antenna?
Do i need anything extra for SWC? (or does the KTX-CMO do this already)
DO i need a harness? or does the w910/KTX-CMO have that built it?
Is the Aux input that is inside the little drawer or center cabinet or w/e its called, is it still going to work?

I have had my car for a week weeks and i never use the XM radio or Onstar and i dont believe i will, so i dont mind not having those features.

Thanks.

Good question, there is no subscription to the navigation tho i was told there is a charge if there is an update for it. not sure if that's true.

the turn by turn voice come on just like the factory system does, volume on the radio lowers when turn by turn voice comes on.....

OK, for the radio antenna you don't need an adapter but if you want to use the XM antenna you do, I myself have not gotten around to looking for one yet but you can get one.....

The steering wheel control doesn't need any extra harness, the two (radio and installation kit) have all the plugs for it to work, plug and play.....

The USB and audio ports inside the center console does not work, the radio comes with its own USB, aux, iPod harness which you could run into the center console if you like, I have mine coming out the side of my glove box, easy to get to.....

hope I covered everything.....

camaro104,

I am installing my Perfect FIT kit (with the INA-W910) in my Camaro today and I hit a roadblock. Where do I connect the yellow/blue wire and the yellow/black wire from the harness that came with the kit. The install instructions that came with the kit lists where they go but not specific enough for me to figure out. Please help.

I can answer 2 of you questions. If you got to monoprice.com this usb cables will work. You take off the cover and and unplug the usb cable . it has the same plug as the mono cable. Here is the web site site

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

If you can solder and have a ohm meter you get the aux port to work. You will need a 6 ft rca cable and some heat shrink tubing. Take the camaro aux and put insert one end of the RCA cable now take you ohm meter check each end of the connector and rca plug and find which has 0 ohms. Make a diagram of which tip matches the connector. Now cut one end of the rca and strip the wires. Now solder the wire to the pin matching your diagram and heat shrink your tubing. That what I did to mine and it works perfectly. To bad I did not keep my diagram.

The yellow and blue wire goes connected the the ebrake wire, remove the passenger side of the console panel, on the bottom of the ebrake handle there's one wire, tap the yellow/blue wire to it.

The yellow/black wire is tricky, I tryed to tap to the stop light switch and failed so i went out and purchase the PAC-TR7, tap the y/black wire to it plus + & - power. It let's you turn on the video with out having to press the brake and pulling the ebrake. Those two wires need to be hooked up for all the radio features to work.

Got it. Thank you very much for your help. Now I just have to figure out how to get the HU into that tiny space with all those wires, connectors, etc.

There is no subscription required for navigation on the Alpine, or really any of the major brand receivers at this point. You do have to pay for the updates though, and they are typically done through the USB port or SD card slot depending on manufacturer.

I notest there was two radio antenna lead wires coming out the harness, one was plug to the oem radio the other was just hanging there, maybe you plug the antenna lead to the other or wrong one. Both antenna lead (plug) looks the same.....
