P0300 AND P0301 CODES

Heres the run down. 2010 V6..... Prior to installing BBK Longtubes and hi-flow cats, the car had no issues, no check engine light....after installing the headers, the CEL came on, which I assumed was from the o2 sensors....Installed trifecta tune, but now I have a P0300 (engine misfire) and P0301 cylinder 1 misfire code

When I clear the codes, the light goes away. I can drive the car around all day, the light stays off. But as soon as I let the car cool down and sit for a while, the next time it cold starts the light comes on. I have heard of people having this issue on the V6 engines and that the dealer can reflash the ECM....but wont that take off the trifecta tune? I feel like it can only be one or the other (reflash the computer to get rid of the misfire code, but then the CEL will be on for the o2 sensors)

HELP!!!

The answer to your Question is in the Codes.

You have a Problem with your Number 1 Plug or connections.

checked the plug, it looked good...switch the plug from cylinder 1 to cylinder 3 and still got the cylinder 1 misfire. All connections looked good, thinking it could be a possible injector issue.....

I do notice when the car sits and i do a cold start, it feels like the car is missing when the idle is way up, and then once the idle goes down to normal it feels fine...but thats when the light comes on

if it is coming on after the car heat cycles, then you should be looking at the connections for #1. Start at the coil pack and work your way down to the plug. Since you moved the plug and the misfire stayed in #1 you definitely have an electrical issue with that cylinder. Most likely at the coil pack.

The problem with these issues is that they can look good, but not be. Unplug and reconnect all the connections for the problem cylinder as you go.

Could it be a bad injector also?

possible, but highly unlikely. You can test that the same way. Swap the injector to #3 and see if it follows.

put in a new injector over the weekend and so far so good. No check engline light after cold start, no rough idling, car feels like it runs smoother. Its only been a day, so ill give it a few more days before i am fully convinced the problem is gone
