Can I continue tracking it now? Like when it is loaded and where the train is?

Once your car is shipped 4200 you can have your dealer call the GM Dealer Business Center and get the rail car #, then you can track it using the automated phone service here.

CSX is everything east of the mississippi
Up is everything west of the mississippi

But they all start out on CSX so once they have it in there system they will follow it all the way.

How do I track my car on a railcar?

First and most important. Never talk to live personnel at the railroad! Only use automated phone system. If it attempts to transfer you to a live person please hang up. The railcar information we are provided by GM is given as a courtesy and if we call live personnel we will lose our data and ability to track
CSX
1. Call the CSX 1-800-235-2352 1-800-235-2352
2. When prompted for location or weight, press "1" on your phone for location.
3. When prompted for the car initials, say ETTX (whatever initials you have) then wait for the next prompt. OR key in 32-81-81-92 (for ETTX)(letter and position on your phone)
4. When prompted for the car number, say 907048 or key in whatever your car number is
5. When prompted for next car say DONE.
6. That's it; enjoy your updated status report.

Union Pacific
1. Call UP at 1 800 877-5123 1 800 877-5123
2. Follow phone prompts for Trace
3. Say the railcar number complete and clearly. Example ETTX123456 all together
4. Listen for your update

These automated systems can be frustrating. Keep in mind they are intended for use by folks that use them daily all day long. Like I said if you are being transferred to a live person please hang up and try again.

Mine went 3400. The plant is shut down next week due to upgrades. Our TPW will still be the same. Just get your rail number and track it all the way home. Just make sure you do not talk to anyone on the phone. Just use the prompts otherwise you will get the dealer in big do do. Trust me on this one.

I have a vin, and am at 4B00 so I assume mine will actually be shipped in the next few days

Congrats. You sure your TPW was right. If so, super congrats. Hope mine gets done early but I doubt it. Still shows 3400 :(

My Dealer gave me a TPW of 4/2/2012 and yesterday morning i got the email stating it went to 4B00, So i hope to see it on its way to me in California very soon.

Mine is still showing 3800 as of the 23rd plus when I click on the vin it tries to pull up the chevy window sticker, but says page not found. Kinda weird.

Weird, maybe itll update tonight, things tend to happen on monday night/tuesday mornings, so far my 6 updates happened all on tuesdays and fridays.

No update for me. I am still at 4/2 and 3400 status. I think you guys got lucky. Plant is shut down this week for upgrades. Hopefully mine will be built on time next week. Make sure you post up pictures when you get them and have fun tracking via rail.

I know it was so early!, hopefully it sticks to the 1-2 weeks for delivery that it usually takes

I also wondered if it's because of the stripes. I didn't realize that the stripes were not put on at the factory.

When I sold my 95 Bird vert May of last year I thought I would get more than 3 days to drive it. Took it out of storage, put it on Craigslist, bam sold right away

Yeah I had a friend lined up to buy it, saturday morning he calls and says he cant, I put it on craigslist, 2 hours later I had three appointments with people to see it.

First guy wanted to let his mechanic look at it on monday, second person bought it. So it sold a couple hours after listing it lol

That is how mine went. I didn't even have the new car ordered. Did that on 5/27 and didn't get it until 8/4. Nothing like going the whole summer of missing top down fun.
