Of course I don't want anything wrong with my car... My challenger and Camaro had problems but they went through extensive QC... I'm not mad thT it's longer but they need to stay on track with things... Not push them back and IF there is something wrong I wanna know about it so I know what to look for...

Well i'm not built yet , but i certainly have concern.....why....well i'm glad you asked..some thoughts that there has to be a problem with them..i mean they have had many built for the better part of a month now. I find it hard to believe they haven't had enough time to inspect them for quality. I think they made some adjustments to the CTF cars that need to be applied to all cars in QC. Sorry to all you guys and gals that have been built they all have to be disassembled and rebuilt...thus the reason for the delay in the next order cycle. That means mine will be built correctly the first time and i will receive it before the first 450 built.

Thanks GM,

Depends if you believe the 2012 will be a collectible or not.

I guess we can't drive it in the snow anyways and nobody expected it before mid-March. I just hope it won't be much later though! I'd rather have it sit a the factory getting fixed than at the dealership. I'm going through that with the 2011 Jeep GC and it sucks, especially as the dealer can't figure out what's wrong...

I doubt I will live another 40 years to find out. I don't buy cars, any car, in "hope" it becomes a collectible.

I don't see much collector value in the car if it is produced for 2-3 years. I'd rather have a later one, but was able to order a 2012. Waiting a couple more months may be beneficial if someone can just delay a little gratificaiton a little longer.

Then I'd go for the 2013.

Whoa, hold up folks. It sounds like a lot of you are assuming the cars have problems. There's a good chance there's absolutely nothing wrong. GM's just making sure of that.

I'm hoping it's because they are doing a software update putting the hp numbers at 601.

Thumbs down Very Bad News for us at 4B00 !!!!!

I got a call from my dealer today who read me a letter/notice they received from GM today. It said "the ZL 1 is on INDEFINITE HOLD and will not ship in the immediate future! I would like to hear if any of you got the same call? and then, I think we would all like to understand what the nature of the issue is.....

Ever think that they may have found an issue that needs to be fixed prior to us getting the cars?

I'm still baffled on why everyone is getting their panties in a bunch over this. It's not like the cars are going any where.

Nothing new people, they just want to make sure the cars are the best they can be. I'd be anxious too but they will come, even if there is some issue.

The letter did NOTsay anything about an INDEFINITE HOLD, it referred to it as UNDETERMINED. You can find the letter it in the other posts from today.

What it said was:
All Camaro ZL1 models produced to date are currently being held by General Motors for a quality assessment. At this moment, the duration of the hold is undetermined, and may last a few more weeks. As soon as the hold is cleared, a note will be sent to all dealers to advise that 2012 Camaro ZL1 shipments are underway.

If I was waiting on one I would much rather have it taken care at the factory than a dealer.

Correct.... NOT "indefinite"............ but... since it's a late model year entry and it's on hold = "somewhat limited"

Edit: Take as long as you want GM!! Whatever you deem best is terrific! Excellent. Excellent!

Ladies and Gentlemen.......when we started production of the 1998 F-car - we held them for nearly 6 weeks - perhaps 7 -

There were a couple of small issues that we were not happy with.

This is nothing new in the industry.

What IS new: Sites like this where we give you more information than you've ever had...........not all the information you want, but more than you've ever had..........

Keep this in mind: You've already heard Al and various members of the team say that over 1/3 of the car has been re-engineered - that means that over 1/3 of the car has 'unique' part numbers.

That's a lot of parts.

That's a lot of suppliers.

In the past you would have not really known when we started building new models - and you would not have been able to get pics of them sitting in shipping lots........

See-- that's one of the 'down-sides' of the internet........

Yes - we (that's you and me) want to get behind the wheel of a new ZL1 - we can 'taste' it because we want it so bad.........

......but you see -- the 'easy' thing to do is to ship cars and say "oh the heck with the customer" - THAT'S what gets you (as a manufacturer) into trouble real quick. And we refuse to do that.

So - I'm asking you to be patient.

It will be worth the wait.

(.....wow.....this may be word-for-word from mid-year 2009 - when we started building 5th gens!)

I'm confused....a more informed consumer, or stock holder, is the downside of the internet?
