Even though the 37 was faster, it isolated the driver a lot more. It also had a hell of a lot more luxury features compared to the 35 (laser guided cruise control, hard drive for music + touch screen nav, better seats, better head lights, and for 09 got self healing paint). I miss that car, but I don't regret getting rid of it every time I start up my new baby.
Yeah I mean they are great cars but they are a compromise between luxury and performance, which they do a great job with imo, so its never going to be as fun as a GT or SS.

Those 35 sedans may be ugly but they arent that slow. My friends just had an intake and he took me by 2 cars from a roll when I was stock. Mod for mod I started beating him but then again its an 03. The 37s are really fast too.

If the G is still around 5-8 years from now Id absolutely get a sedan as a DD/grocery getter (age 21 now).

I was a little discouraged at first, reading half of this stuff about slow-maro >:( Yeah, we (blah, most) of us have a car capable of only mid 14's stock, but am I not one of a TON of us who love our cars for other reasons? Shes a looker, for starters, and I drive an M6 and enjoy the piss out of this car. Owned her for almost a year now, and I wouldnt change a thing. Yeah we'd all like more power (SS, dif car etc). or to be quicker (shes a bit of a piggy xD) but im enjoying my current Camaro for what it is, a gnarly ride that makes me smile every day I drive her (my DD) and who is the most fun ive had in a car in my lifetime (not long lol).

Ok, fin, no more parenthesis promise.

EDIT: 1 regret! Wish she was an RS :3

close, but 7 spd 370z's are really 12 second cars stock.

STOCK WITH STREET TIRES
1) jmarcel88 -------- 09 Base ----- 7AT 12.938 @ 108.31 mph 1.972 60ft
2) b1adesofcha0s ---- 09 Tour ----- 7AT 12.986 @ 107.46 mph 1.967 60ft - Yokohama Advan S4 245/45/18
3) Speedy ----------- 09 Tour Sport 7AT 13.080 @ 105.14 mph 2.083 60ft
4) tranceformer ----- 09 Base Sport 6MT 13.127 @ 105.27 mph 1.890 60ft - oil cooler

I own all 3 and non of the cars in my list are slow or embarassing. I have many V6 camaro friends who will give me a run for my money but of course they are not stock but not turboed either. Bmorecam for an example is hitting over 300 to the rear with all bolts on's right now. Again, not stock but definitely nothing to be embarassed about.

Having a few cars run 12s out of the thousands of others that run low to mid 13s doesn't make them 12 second cars across the board. I'm sure many more have hit 12s, but the fastest I've seen one run here is a 13.2 and I'm pretty sure he had an exhaust at least. Either way, they are good cars. Handle well.

Where did you find these numbers?

We got guys running mid 12's on a stock SS but that doesn't mean jack when it's not the norm.

Why race an SS? Basically you run what you brung. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. There is always a faster car out there.

While he is not saying they are 12 second cars, he is saying they are capable of it. If a stock one is capable of it then I would consider it a 12 second car if driven right in the right conditions in the same way the Camaro can be a 12.6-12.7 car in perfect conditions with the right driver.

Sounds like the entire list for a forum, not a "fast list". Near 14 second 1/4 mile times and 97 mph traps would not be on any 370z "fast list".

That's their fast list. They just don't have enough "fast" cars to keep a 14 sec car off the list.

There's no dought the 370z is a fast car. But I wouldn't put it in the "12 sec car" category. Its a low to mid 13s sec car in good conditions with good driving. For a 370z to run 12.9s everything has to go just right (driver, track, weather, etc).

Yea you should have gotten a car with a more efficient engine that doesn't need 6.2 liters to make 426hp and doesn't weigh 4000lbs lol.

How is the LS3 not efficient? It weighs less than 450lbs fully dressed, depending on gearing gets 25mpg, and makes great power. Not bad for a push rod. Not to mention it is easily packaged into many engine bays due to not having a DOHC design and being pretty compact dimensionally.

I was about to trade my V6 for L99 until I tried the L99, then I changed my mind and I decided to stick to my modded V6.

Honestly, many of my friends with L99s are not happy with its performance.

LS3 is a different animal and it is a serious V8.

L99 has lots of TQ management and the stock tune is pretty lame. Once you get a customized tune and get rid of AFM and all that, it's an animal. There's also issues with low octane gas and the car running on the low octane table, which decrease performance. It's unfortunate, but I basically had to get an aftermarket tune to make the car run the way it should've from the factory.
