2012 SS L99 dying after shift

My wife took the car to put gas in it ( Shell 93 ). After that she ra. A few errands and all of a sudden the car starts dying after shifting gears. Idle sounds good, it runs good once it gets going. It doesn't even do it every time. I put some high octane fuel in it to boost the octane numbers to make sure it wasnt bad fuel, but it would run bad all the time, right? This almost sounds like something is shutting the car off like a safety thing. Any ideas? Car has run the best it ever has, no changes in a month. Just came up from no where.

it still could be bad gas, not so much for octane but could have water in it

I come from diesel trucks and have dealt with water in fuel many times on the road. It's a fairly simple fix on diesels, dain water from filter, prime and keep truckin. Not sure what I would do in this case short of draining the tank.

So you're driving, the car shifts gears, and dies? No lights on the dash?

I should've explained better. When I go to shift out of reverse to drive the car dies at that point. No lights or anything.

I have used rubbing alcohol 92% in the past to remove water from gas, if you determine that is the case. I think one bottle treats like 8-12 gallons if my memory serves me correct.
