ZL1 Space

Hey guys.

I don't know about everyone else out there, but I'm curious about something. How much space do you think we're going to have in this car? Specifically referring to headroom. I am right at 6' 4", so I know from being in 2010-2011 Camaros that it's going to be a close fit for me (let alone from my 1995 Z28), but do you think there will be enough room for this to be a regular daily driver?

I don't necessarily want to have to lean my seat back all the way just to drive this thing..

I'm 6'5" and 300 lbs and have no problem fitting in the car.

Wouldn't the ZL1 have the same amount of room as any other current gen Camaro? I would certainly skip the sunroof because it eats up headroom.

I skipped the sunroof for maximum headroom and a slightly lower cost. To the OP, you need to sit in any Camaro with out the sunroof, if you haven't already. There's no difference between the models in headroom. People complain about the headroom in the Camaro, but my Accord coupe has about the same amount.

I've been driving my ZL1 for a few days now and have concluded, I fit in the car OK but have zero headroom. I do want to track the car but there is no way to fit wearing a helmet. Any solutions out there? Mod the seat? Remove the head liner? What would be involved in replacing the seat ?

I am 6'0" and have very little headroom with the seat in the lowest position. With a helmet my head is slightly pressed against the headliner. My car has a sunroof.

I don't think you're putting it down all the way, or you like driving wiht the seat in the most upright position, because I'm 6 feet as well and I have plenty of room.

I don't have the seat in the most upright position and I'm not complaining. I am perfectly comfortable driving my ZL1 and have no issues with the small amount of headroom. "Plenty of room" is difficult to judge but if you call 1-2" plenty of room, then I have plenty as well. As a comparison of a totally different car, my 2011 Ford Flex has plenty of headroom in comparison....over 6".

6'5", 230 and it fits the same as my 2010 SS. Don't get the sunroof. Biggest surprise is leg room, more space than my Tahoe. If you have a tall torso/butt combination you might want a vert. Ha ha
