Lfx manifold

So I was talking to the guys at cherry bomb and apparently on the lfx engine, along with not being able to do headers, our cats are part of the manifold. To me this means no high flow cat which I thought was the answer to freeing up some llt's exhaust. Doesn't this basically render any cat back systems useless?? Might as well just get 2 mufflers and call it a day...

Can't a saw take care of the cats?

the cats are not part of the manifold.... you see a single big pipe going down from each side of the engine, and then 2 cats on each pipe, as with all other v6 camaros. eliminating these two cats and going with 1 high-flo cat on each side is still possible (though it would more than likely throw CELs at you unless you get those tuned out)

Malave is right, but I do have another question...

Malave...is there a flange on the downpipe before the cats that can be unbolted so that the cats can be removed? Surely there is.

As for the OP....this causes no problems with installing a catback whatsoever.

honestly I'm not sure. I think they might not be since there is no exhaust manifold you would have to unbolt and service, you could just unbolt the whole pipe. But I'm not sure about that. I would have to get under the car again and double check.

I was considering just cutting the 2 cats out on each side and having my local exhaust shop weld a 2.5" high-flo cat on each side, but I want to save up enough to be able to get a tune because I hate CELs (don't we all)
