Is this how it works??

My dealer just called and told me that my car is currently going down the line today. He said he knows this because he spoke to somebody at the DBC (?) and they have the former half of my VIN (latter half to be assigned once its completed, obviously).

Does this actually mean that it is in production as we speak or is he blowing smoke up my ass?

If they have part of the vin then they have all of it. The complete vin is assigned a couple days before it hits the line.
