Hey Mike, thanks for accepting my request to pipe up here. Very much appreciated and a fabulous explanation of how it works, and sharing schematics for using the cruise as the switch.

I went to the SJM website and like the price. Think I will order.

Do you have to open any brake lines to put one in?

the line lock solenoid attaches to the brake system on the passenger fender, you will need to bleed the system after instaling...the brake lines for the front wheels are sent thru the solenoid before entering the brake block...so there is removing lines and installing new lines...

I'm rocking the SJM. Quality is top notch and I have installed many line locks. This is by far the best. I did have to make a couple tiny mods for it to fit with the convertible strut tower brace, though. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=167705

Discussed with shop today, getting mine ordered as we speak. I like the setup it's very clean, and I really like the master switch with LED. Without the added safety of a primary / secondary switch, all I think about is hitting the line lock button by mistake while you're doing 100mph. on the highway.

I put the SJM a couple weeks ago and install was easy enough. Hardest part was deciding hot to do the wiring/switches. Was going to go with the cruise control setup mentioned above but went a little different instead. I Used the supplied SJM master switch which I installed under the steering at the bottom of the dash. I then installed a Plasmaglo momentary switch in the cigarette lighter socket for a real covert but functional look. When the master is armed, the Plasmaglo lights up to let you know. Install turned out really clean and I am really satisfied with the SJM quality and performance!

I've decided to get a black switch (about the size of a nickel) with a built in LED, and the shifter switch as the momentary. That way I don't have to drill any holes into the interior of the vehicle.
