I did a little math from a close friend I learned from at bandimere and it seemed to be pretty close on to guestimates. So I plugged in some numbers from Huffer's signature.

Horsepower = Weight x [(speed/234)^3]
1,187.2257742 = 4100 x [(154.81/234)^3]

Use a dedicated fuel system for the N2O that way you won't risk the downside of the problem of using the engine's fuel system.

But I wonder if it has something to do with centrifugal blowers.

6l80e transmission handle 1000+rwhp?

I just subscribed to the thread.

After reading all the posts, I didnt see anyone running a 6l80e tranny. I've upgraded the tranny parts from Century Transmission but does anyone know if it will handle 1000rwhp? Ive already spent the money so might as well run it until it dies on me and then replace the transmission.

I'm partially paralyzed on the left side so manual transmission is not possible for me. Any other options besides the 4 speed auto tranny? We've lost the track and dont know if/when a new track wil be built. It sucks when you live on an island and nowhere to go.

I should be getting the car back in a couple of weeks, so hopefully we can hit the magical 4 digit rwhp.

Mike

Hey Huffer, I took those figures and I think you went 160mph as well a few times and did you a HP calculator from wallace racing calculators.

Your Weight=4100lbs
MPH=160mph
1/4 Mile ET=9.36

Your HP computed from your vehicle ET is 889.38 rear wheel HP and 988.20 flywheel HP.
Your HP computed from your vehicle MPH is 1,087.38 rear wheel HP and 1,208.20 flywheel HP. Obviously there is other variables here to consider. Chris

Most definitely.........Kinda feel like a kid in a candy store looking at his build thread. Mine is well underway and he's given me some good ideas. My turbos have been wanting to do more work for some time now!

Awesome...congrats! A couple of questions so I can fill in as much info as possible.

1) 6 Speed Manual?

2) Stock rear end right (including gears)?

3) Weight?

Thanks!

1) yup, stock 6060
2) yup, stock SS gears and housing, all stock driveline except for clutch.
3) not been on the scales yet but haven't taken anything out. Added weight with the iron block and turbos and intercooler. Probably 4100 without me.

Insane. The first time you head to the track remember to bring a spare rear end. You'll leave the original one on the track the first time you jump off the line.

I am more worried about a drive shaft coming apart, lol. I know the entire drive line is a ticking time bomb but at this point I am curious how far I can really push it. I never thought it would take 1000+ TQ. Also to be fair, The motor is 427, I noticed the list said 417, I am sure those extra 10 CI give me a bit. lol

Thanks Again!

Corrected the 417.

Your numbers make sense on a manual car with a stock rear end. Then you have crazy cars like SSMagna making 1000+ with a 9.5" and a 4L80. Both rob a ton of horsepower, but translate very well at the track.

If you put that car on some slicks and it hooks you're gonna be picking up parts off the track.

Good luck holding everything together...you're gonna need it.

Congrats! My car is still in the shop being upgraded, but pretty much close to your build. I also went with a Garretts twin turbo setup on a 446/RHS built engine. I was running a L99 engine with TVS2300 Magnacharger, Kooks LT headers, Corsa Exhaust, ADM Performance CAI running 540rwhp. I was planning on purchasing the new Viper, but my girlfriend vetoed the Viper so the money was diverted to the Camaro. At least I was able to sell the L99 and all performance parts pretty quickly.

I was surprised on the size of the stock driveshaft compared to the DSS driveshaft I had installed. Here is a comparison. You might want to purchase the upgraded axle and driveshaft now so that you can have them on hand when the stock ones do come apart.

That's a pretty long shaft...doesnt look like it's going to have a very high critical speed ?
